A Jason Jennings wild pitch ended it. Another frustrating loss for the Rangers. This offense is MIA right now. Amazing that the bats are the biggest problem.
But there were some positives tonight. Derek Holland pitched well just when he really needed a good outing (more on that in the morning). That is encouraging (yes, I know the Giants aren't a great hitting team, but he pitches well regardless). Frank Francisco also looked solid and should be ready to take over the closing duties any time now.
Oh, and the Angels lost. Rangers remain 1/2 game up. The June swoon that many of you were worried about and that I thought the club could avoid is upon us. They are 7-10 for the month and have seen their lead in the AL West erased.
Feel free to discuss whatever is on your mind.

No one was surprised when Sammy Sosa's name was linked to steroids. Hardly anyone doubts the accuracy of the 2003 drug test that Sosa failed. Sosa was just another big name in the dozens that have been dropped sporadically over the past several years. It seems that every month, the league will expose another big name player as a certified steroid abuser. Many big name stars today...

Manager Ron Washington said the Rangers are still to feel not having Josh Hamilton in the lineup. With Michael Young and Ian Kinsler both hitting again, the Rangers are going to use the combo of Elvis Andrus and David Murphy in the No. 2 spot until Hamilton returns. Andrus is batting second tonight.
Here is the lineup

Rangers get swept by Giants
Things are not going well for the Rangers, who could fall out of first place tonight when the Angels take on the Dodgers. Texas lost 3-2 to the Giants today and were swept.
Discuss:
• Offense. Right now, it is abysmal. And I'm really not sure what manager Ron Washington can do about it. I would think he'd shake up the lineup as much as he could, though he's doing some of that...
Cowlishaw game heads to San Francisco
Vicente Padilla's line from Thursday: 6 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K. Andrew, Rett Davis, Jon in NRH, Clay and Blaze all had Padilla going six innings. The grand prize winner: Blaze. Congrats. You get a "way to go" from me. Blaze had three earned runs, which no one else did. Blaze's line: 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 5 BB, 2 K, 96 pitches. Jon in NRH was also very close.

From this AM’s Enquirer:
Baker’s comments today are a mix of the SOS and new comments that are indefensible.
In the SOS category:
“First they want (Laynce) Nix to play instead of Dickerson,” Baker said. “Now they want Dickerson instead of Taveras. It’s a long season, and you’ve got to go with a guy’s track record as well as what he’s doing now too.
Let’s examine...
