From Summer Ball News SourceSPRINGFIELD, IL – In addition to signing Purdue left-handed pitcher Calvin Gunter, the Sliders also signed two more players off the Purdue Boilermakers roster. Both freshman Cameron Perkins and Pat Gannon will be joining the Sliders in the summer of 2010.Cameron Perkins is a 6-foot-5, 190 pound right-handed hitter from Indianapolis, Indiana. He broke the Indiana state record for batting average, hitting an astonishing .723.Left-handed pitcher Pat Gannon is 6-foot, 180 pounds from Brother Rice High School in Evergreen Park, Illinois. He finished his high school baseball career with a 17-4 record.The Boilermakers finished 25-26 (11-12 Big Ten) and lost to the Minnesota Golden Gophers in their third game of the Big Ten Conference Tournament. Drew Wurdack, was also pitched for the Sliders last summer, is a member of the Boilermakers pitching staff.The Sliders finished 22-32 last summer and look forward to an exciting 2010 of summer baseball.
