MVN:
Richard Owens was signed by the team last week. It is a move that should solidify the depth of the TE position significantly. Now there are two proven players and also some rookies and a conversion project to bolster this crucial position.
He is a fifth year player with time spent in St Louis last year and Minnesota prior. Owens is 6'4" and 273 pounds, so he is expected to fill a glaring need as a run blocker and also can fill in quite nicely on special teams.
Owens is the exact opposite of a T.O type of player who creates headlines and controversy. He will play hard and physical, execute well and most importantly is a smart athlete. This is a man who is a pillar in the community as he and his wife Tina are constantly giving back with charitable causes such as Toys for Tots and Habitats for Humanity.
We welcome him to the NY/NJ area and wish them all the best!
