In a homage to Twitter, the new social media application that is changing how news is delivered (in the same vein how blogs changed everything) I bring to you a summary of each Red Sox player on the 25-man roster in 140 characters or less (the maximum number of characters you can enter on Twitter).
Have Twitter? Follow me. Tim's on too. Oh, and Fire Brand has one as well. You'll notice that had you followed Fire Brand, you would have gotten all these tweets last night.Daniel Bard: Will he end up as closer in 2011? Questions abound about his makeup but my question is: can his slider be consistent enough?Josh Beckett: Leads the AL in wins and is 6th in ERA. Might even be #1 if you throw out April. Can he hold off even-year down years in 2010?Clay Buchholz: Engagement agrees with him, he says. The more he pitches, the more it looks like he could be No. 3 SP in playoffs.Fernando Cabrera: Has Sox nightmares from 2007 but killed it in AAA. Don't count him out as impact reli...

Red Sox Beat: Clay Buchholz Survives The Trip Aces
Say what you will about Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz, but he's heard it all before: he's too immature, he's too skinny, he's not ready for this level of play, he's not worth the hype.Wednesday night, the 25-year-old Texan took to the hill for the seventh time this season and only had to deal with the man he was rumored to be dealt for - Toronto stud Roy Halladay...

Tim Wakefield threw a bullpen session before Tuesday's game at Toronto and is not yet healthy enough to return to Boston's starting rotation.
Finding His Slot
David Ortiz doubled and homered tonight, and is now 4 for 5 with two doubles and two homers batting in the seventh slot in the lineup. Maybe Francona should have moved him there sooner. The Red Sox lead the Blue Jays 6-2 in the top of the fourth.
Sox hope Beckett continues to be armed force
Back in spring training, before Josh Beckett had proven anything in regards to his 2009 season, they could see it. The way he had trained, the lack of injury, the way the ball made that reassuring popping noise when hitting the catcher’s mitt. So manager Terry Francona and pitching coach John Farrell said it: the Beckett who arrived ...
On the Sox and Baseball: Random Thoughts
Congratulations to the Pedroias, joy into their lives.Peter Gammons correctly noted last year (I think), that a lot of 30-something ballplayers would start to look old (absent PEDs). That prediction has come spot on.What's a pitcher's out pitch? Does he have a swing and miss pitch? Buchholz may have the most swing and miss pitches on the staff. Not to say that Beckett and Lester can...

Jobs Dustin Pedroia Could Have If He Didn't Play Baseball
Dustin Pedroia. MVPedroia.
Everybody says what sports *other* sports baseball players could do if they weren't in baseball.
Here's five jobs I think Pedroia would excel at if he wasn't in Major League Baseball. The pictures (and youtube videos) do the talking.
*This is clearly an attempt at humor, so calm down Sox fans.*
Boston Red Sox (66-51) at Toronto Blue Jays (55-61), 7:05 p.m.
After squandering their lead in the American League Wild- Card race over the weekend, the Red Sox hope to get back on track quickly. Sending Josh Beckett to the hill and getting Kevin Youkilis back in the lineup should go a long way in helping.
