TEAMS: New England

By: Ronaldinho Hendricks

Everything seemed to be going well at halftime for the Sounders as they were up on the New England Revolution 1-0 thanks to a six minute rocket from Fredy Montero. But bliss was not to be as the Sounders entered Gillette Stadium for the second half. From the start of the second half the defense looked disorganized and unable to relieve pressure.
It was under that pressure that mistakes were made, the first coming in the 51st minute when the ball was kicked at Leo Gonzalez’s face inside the eighteen yard box and he instinctively put his hand up to protect his face. This led to a penalty shot and a goal for Sharlie Joseph. The Sounders tried desperately to take the lead again.

Montero took a spectacular bicycle kick that almost went past New England’s Matt Reis. But all their efforts accumulated to nothing when Joseph scored a second goal for New England in the 87th minute off of a header.

This loss appeared to be a major frustration for the Sounders as they sauntered off the field. They know now that their road to the playoffs is going to be much longer and more difficult

Guaranteed NFL Week Three Locks

I went 9-7 in the NFL last week, which puts me at 20-12 for the year. Note: Due to an upcoming investments midterm, I do not have time to explain these picks, so please trust me that I have done my research...

MC's Week Three NFL Picks

I am proud to have called the Jets victory over the Patriots but overall I did not fare as well Week Two as I anticipated, going 10-6. Tomorrow's another week...   Redskins (1-1) at Lions (0-2) Everyone seems to like the Lions this week. I'm not drinking te Kool-Aid, the Redskins do not have an explosive offense. I'm not very concerned that they only scored nine points against...

Baltimore Ravens' 3-0 Start Sets up Showdown in Foxborough

Now, that’s more like it.Despite beginning the season with two solid victories and showing more offensive prowess than Baltimore had seen in years, there were still voices of concern. The defense, which had been the linchpin of one of the more successful NFL franchises of the 21st century, was ranked a mediocre 17th, the secondary was giving up too many big plays, and they were...
