We followed up on a national report late tonight that CB Marlin Jackson had suffered a season-ending knee injury and Indy Star colleague Mike Chappell talked to Jackson and received the sad confirmation. Jackson tore up his left knee, not the same knee he ripped up last year during a practice, and is out for the season.
Realistically, the first-round pick might be finished with the Colts, too. Hate to type that. The game can be harsh. But he's in a contract year and you have to wonder if the Colts would re-sign a guy who has torn both ACLs in a span of a year. And if memory serves, he tore two ligaments in the right knee last year.
Jackson had told me after the bye week that his most recent injury was to his left knee, that favoring his right knee put more strain on his left. That evidently led to this tear. Media member or fan, it's an understatement to say you just hate to see this.
