Ryan Zimmerman has earned a trip to his first All-Star Game. The Nationals third baseman was selected as a reserve to the National League squad on Sunday. He'll travel to St. Louis next week and participate in his first Midsummer Classic. Zimmerman's candidacy was built largely upon his hot start to the season. His 30-game hitting streak in April and early May garnered national headlines and brought attention to the 24-year-old face of the Nationals franchise. I made the argument last week that in order for the Braves to contend again, they had to keep pitching, play Prado, and stay poised. They managed to do 2 of 3. So they lost 2 of 3 to the pitiful Nationals, who consist of Adam Dunn, Ryan Zimmerman, and a bunch of K-Mart clerks.
