Packers 2012 Season Bye Week Review The Packers 2012 season started off like none before it. I will not dig up too many ugly memories, but the Packers record at this point should not be 6-3. Be that as it may, the team and some of it’s key players have gotten flak that’s just not deserved. Not that everything is perfect; far from it, for many in my opinion it is fans being unrealistic. But we see it every year no matter what the record; fans calling for players to be traded, coaches fired, this player or that player is nothing, has not impressed me and you hear things like I KNOW what is going to be called. It goes with the game and being a fan for many. Right now I think that the team is in a very good position, even better when most of the currently injured player do come back. The depth of the team has been shown to us all these last 3 weeks. With a full roster this coaching staff, one I think is the best in the NFL, is going to have options they did not have at the start of the ...

Packers bye week blues

After the Packers beat the Cardinals last weekend, and after the potential short or long-term losses of Bryan Bulaga, Clay Matthews, Jordy Nelson and others, a certain malaise may have been felt among some Packer fans this week. I confess to falling into that category.By winning the game last Sunday, head coach Mike McCarthy rewarded his players with an entire week off before getting...

Packers face multiple contract question marks

Win now while planning for the future. That's the goal and the challenge facing the Green Bay Packers and general manager Ted Thompson. Others will likely require him to make a judgment call. As coach Mike McCarthy tries to...

Packers Injury Report: Bryan Bulaga To Miss Several Weeks

The Green Bay Packers are just hitting their stride, but that stride may quickly turn to a limp.  While the Packers are in a bye week and working on getting healthy, one key player will not have enough time to get healthy before the team's next game.  Bryan Bulaga, who was injured Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, is expected to miss a few weeks, possibly the rest of the...

Packers Could Be Without RT Bryan Bulaga For The Rest Of The Season

Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazette writes that the Packers are preparing for the chance that they could be without starting RT Bryan Bulaga for “several weeks or even the rest of the season.“ Bulaga awkwardly injured his hip during last weekends win over the Cardinals, but the fact that he tried to catch his balance instead of falling down, may have contributed...

Report: Hornung auction will benefit charity

Paul Hornung's football career was about as successful as any player could hope for. The Green Bay Packers legend was a Heisman Trophy winner in 1956, the first overall pick in the NFL draft a year later and the league's Most Valuable Player in 1961. Now, Hornung has agreed to sell a few items from his college and professional football collection. According to the Milwaukee...

Hip Injury May End Packers OT Bryan Bulaga's Season

Pro Football Weekly hears both Packers WR Greg Jennings (groin) and S-CB Charles Woodson (broken collarbone) are probably looking to return to action in the mid-December range. As for starting ORT Bryan Bulaga, who suffered a hip injury in the Week Nine win over Arizona, speculation is growing that the injury might be serious enough to shut him down the remainder of the season, considering...

Wounded Packers must chase down Bears

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- There's only seven games left in the Packers' season, and yet, somehow, they've only played one divisional opponent. That one game was nearly two months ago, when Green Bay hosted Chicago and gave the Bears their only loss of the season through nine weeks. Since then, the Packers have matched up against a random assortment of AFC and NFC teams, with...
