Earlier we wrote about a retired Superior Court Judge claiming that he wouldn’t be surprise if Aaron Hernandez beat the Odin Lloyd murder. Now according to My Fox Boston, former Hernandez friend and accomplice Carlos Ortiz says he is officially done with cooperating. Investigators believe that there were two people with the 24-year-old when Odin Lloyd was killed, Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz. Ortiz is an admitted angel dust user with a lengthy criminal record. Ortiz is charged with being an accessory after the fact in connection with the Lloyd murder. He’s told detectives on the record that Hernandez and Hernandez alone got out of the car with Lloyd when Lloyd was executed in North Attleboro. Despite credibility issues, the state would likely want Ortiz to spell that out to a jury. However, Ortiz’s lawyer John Connors has suggested that he is done cooperating. In a telephone interview Wednesday with Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, Connors said, “I have no control over whether he ...

New England Patriots: Week 13 preview and prediction

The New England Patriots (8-3) travel to Reliant Stadium this Sunday to visit the Houston Texans (2-9). The game will be shown on CBS at 1PM EST, with commentary provided by Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf. But before we get there, a few words on last week, because oh man. I’ll admit something shameful. I turned off the game at halftime. I’d had enough. The Ridley fumble was a killer...

Just the other day the New England Patriots released both Marcus Forston and Justin Green from their 53 man roster.  Green was a cornerback and Marcus Forston, was a highly touted defensive tackle from the University of Miami. Neither player was claimed via the waiver wire, and the Patriots were able to sign them both […]

Aaron Hernandez Pleads Fifth in Florida Lawsuit Accusing Him of Shooting Man in Face Outside Strip Club

MIAMI — Lawyers for Aaron Hernandez say their client won’t answer accusations in a federal lawsuit filed by a man who says the former star NFL tight end shot him in the face outside a Miami strip club. In the response filed Wednesday to the complaint by 30-year-old Alexander Bradley, attorneys say Hernandez is invoking his Fifth Amendment right that protects people from incriminating...

Did Tom Brady's Audible Includes Belichick's Girl?

During Sunday's game, with the Patriots at the Denver three yard line, Tom Brady called an audible at the line. Still trailing by ten, Brady yelled out a cadence and then delivered a three yard strike to Rob Gronkowski to pull New England within three points. The "audible" that Brady called? Per the Boston Herald: Because while Tom Brady was engineering...

Chris Jones, Joe Vellano Would Benefit From Rest, but Rookie Defenders Are Not Complaining About High Snap Counts

FOXBORO, Mass. – Chris Jones and Joe Vellano could probably use a breath every once in a while. That’s not what the two rookie defensive tackles are saying, though. But Jones’ and Vellano’s playing time is rare for players of their size, position and experience. Rookies typically aren’t every-down guys. Especially rookies like Jones, who was a sixth-rounder cut by two...

FOXBORO, Mass. — The Patriots will be without Aaron Dobson on Sunday. That means Kenbrell Thompkins will likely play a big role against the Texans. Stevan Ridley fumbles around for help

The call went out Tuesday. Patriots running back Stevan Ridley, perhaps dealing with the greatest level of adversity in his three-year career, needed guidance from his close friend and mentor, so he dialed up Kevin Faulk. Ridley has fumbled in three consecutive games, and his four lost fumbles this season are tied for the most in the NFL among skill-position players. His time on...

Patriots’ Close Wins, Losses Week After Week Could Help Avoid Trap Game This Season (Video)

FOXBORO, Mass. — If all goes as planned, the Patriots can sweep the rest of the season, bettering their chances at getting a first-round bye in the playoffs. That means avoiding a trap game, though. New England has had their share of letdown games over the year. They lost to the Cardinals last season and the Browns in 2010. The total record of the Patriots’ remaining opponents...

Patriots Match-Up Mania: No Fumbles

Will Stevan Ridley ever touch the football again? If you looked up wicked awesome in the dictionary, there certainly would be a description of the 34-31 overtime victory the New England Patriots earned against the Denver Broncos last weekend. However, having seen the fumble-filled first half of Sunday’s game,we all know it wasn’t a perfect victory. Three fumbles – okay, it’s...

Forget the guilt, Ridley just needs to play football

“It’s a mistake, it’s something that I messed up on, but that’s why I say it’s going to show ultimately how much of a man I really am because I have to overcome this. I have to get better from this. And if I don’t improve, it’s going to cost me my job down the line and I don’t want that."Those are the words spoken by New England Patriots running back Stevan...

Aqib Talib Looking Forward to Covering Andre Johnson

Aqib Talib isn't looking past the 2-9 Texans. In fact, he's rather looking forward to the match up between the Patriots and the reeling Houston team. As for never looking past an opponent, Talib had this to say about the Texans, and what he considers to be their still dangerous offense, per Michael Whitmer of The Boston Globe: "Just because they’re 2-9...

Bill Belichick Defends Mike Tomlin

Bill Belichick is no stranger to his share of controversial actions against other teams, so it’s really not surprising that he’s defending Mike Tomlin. Tomlin has already admitted to having stepped onto the field, downplaying the incident by saying “I do it quite often like everybody else in the National Football League. I was wrong. I accept responsibility for it.” Belichick...

Three Out, Seven Questionable for Texans Game

As was expected after all three missed every practice this week, Michael Hoomanawanui, Marcus Cannon and Aaron Dobson are all officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.
