Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is hoping to be back in the lineup before Thanksgiving. “I would like to be back this week. Now, whether that’s realistic or not remains to be seen. I would never rule myself out on a Tuesday. Now, Mike probably already has, I think.” Sounds like Rodgers is ready to  get back on the field as soon as possible. “I haven’t given up hope on playing any week. It depends on how I heal and depends on what the next x-ray looks like,” Rodgers said. “Obviously, this week is probably not going to happen — not going to happen. (pause) Probably not going to happen.” Rodgers says he’s making progress. “I’m doing everything I can to get back out there,” Rodgers said Tuesday. “We have our treatment routines. Again, it’s giving the bone time to heal and not trying to do anything too stupid to aggravate it. The collarbone obviously has an important role in your shoulder movement. He's a couple of weeks away, I would think. They haven't given me a date. #Packers — Green Bay Packers (@packers) November 11, 2013 In the mean time the Packers will reportedly work out John...

Aaron Rodgers To Be Back On Thanksgiving?

This is realistic, folks. Aaron Rodgers, a week after he suffered a fractured collarbone, might be back for a Thanksgiving showdown with the Detroit Lions. He would actually like to play the week before that also against Minnesota. It’s interesting to hear that Aaron Rodgers is doing very well because this is usually a very bad injury but I guess he heals fast. The funny thing...

NFL might expand rules to protect QBs

Thanks to a broken collarbone on a run-of-the-mill sack, the Green Bay Packers are without Aaron Rodgers. Their rivals in the NFC North, the Chicago Bears, are without Jay Cutler thanks to a bum leg, which also wasn't the result of some sort of illegal hit. Game after game, NFL quarterbacks get sacked, get hurt - and miss starts. Of the 15 games on this week's schedule,...

With Dietrich-Smith, Center Gets No Attention

Evan Dietrich-Smith has provided a power blocker in the team's vastly improved running game. More than that, his hustle was an unsung key to the up-tempo offense led by Aaron Rodgers. Without Rodgers, Dietrich-Smith and the line will do what they can to make life easier for Scott Tolzien.

NFL Week 11: Fantasy Football Studs and Duds

It was another high scoring week in fantasy football. Six quarterbacks threw for at least 200 yards and three touchdowns while 13 different receivers had at least 100 yards. It could very well be the same this week. With Aaron Rodgers on the shelf for an extended period of time and the likes of Arian Foster and Doug Martin done for the year, Lucas and Cooper dig a little deeper for...

Report: Matt Flynn will work out for Packers

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Matt Flynn will work out for the team Monday, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Mike McCarthy did announce...

Packers QB Scott Tolzien is confident, has confidence of teammates

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- With Aaron Rodgers recovering from a broken collarbone and Seneca Wallace placed on injured reserve, it was the Green Bay Packers' new starting quarterback, Scott Tolzien, who got all of the media attention in the locker room Wednesday. Report: Green Bay Packers to Sign Quarterback Matt Flynn

Matt Flynn was once the most coveted backup quarterback in the NFL following the 2011 season, but after failing to earn the starting quarterback job on the Seattle Seahawks last year and Oakland Raiders this year, the 28-year-old is going back to where his career began. The Green Bay Packers, who need to find a new starting quarterback with all-pro Aaron Rodgers recovering from a...

An Open Letter to Green Bay Packers Fans

Dear Cheeseheads, Are you panicking yet? After all, a portion of you were calling out for Brett Favre the moment Aaron Rodgers suffered his shoulder injury against the Chicago Bears – and let's be honest: most of you were not joking. Despite how stubborn he can be at times, we're lucky to have somebody as rational as Ted Thompson in control of those decisions. Take a breath...

Matt Flynn’s Return To Green Bay Highlights Major QB Problems

As soon as the extent of Aaron Rodgers’ shoulder injury became apparent, Matt Flynn’s return was always on the cards. Rodgers and Brett Favre have, since 1992, been the only regular signal callers in Green Bay and the back ups at Lambeau (Seneca Wallace and Scott Tolzein) do not exactly inspire confidence.Rodgers has worked near miracles with a severely depleted receiving corps...

You Know Your Team’s In Trouble When They Start Getting Burned By Dawson Leery

(via Getty Image) The Green Bay Packers are going through quarterbacks like toilet paper right now, starting three QBs in three weeks. Aaron Rodgers, Seneca Wallace, Scott Tolzien … the week after that they’re starting Favre, and then Tebow wearing a Favre jersey, and maybe in the last game of the season they’ll cart out a football-playing donkey. It’s bad. But they’re...
