Cornerback Aaron Williams had his reservations this offseason when the Buffalo Bills asked him to make the switch to safety. He worried if the move was a reflection of his inconsistent play in his first two seasons in Buffalo. Williams' second concern was how quickly he could learn the new role. Three months later, safety just might be a more natural position for Williams, who's filling the spot left open by Jairus Byrd's offseason-long absence. The Bills have retained Byrd's rights by designating him their franchise player, but he has yet to sign a one-year contract offer while attempting to negotiate a long-term deal. Williams has so far shown signs of being a capable Plan B after closing the Bills' mandatory minicamp Thursday with his third interception in three days.
