Fight Hub TV:
We are two days away from championship boxing on Showtime as Abner Mares and Jhonny Gonzalez are soundly sleeping in their beds and awaiting their weigh in tomorrow. It is no secret that both fighters are friends and at one time former sparring mates. This makes the championship bout all the more interesting seeing they will be punching each others brains out on Saturday at The Stub Hub Center.
On Thurs, Showtime held the final press conference and both fighters showed a great deal of admiration and respect for each other. We went ahead and put together this highlight clip so you dont have to sit and watch thru forty minutes of footage. Enjoy!

What an upset. But it made sense. It's the kind that can always happen when you're in the ring against someone with Jhonny Gonzalez's dynamite, as Abner Mares discovered Saturday on Showtime. Mares, in his second fight at featherweight and climbing the pound-for-pound rankings of best fighters in any division, couldn't make it out of the very 1st round as Gonzalez...
You gotta give boxing credit for a few things. While MMA was kicking that crap out of them in terms of putting on fights fans wanted to see, boxing has slowly learned from the example set forth by the UFC. We are seeing stacked PPV cards now being put together such as the Mayweather-Canelo card, as well as televised prelims and more of a push to market fighters. One thing that MMA...
