Adam LaRoche  could be on the verge of  ending  a season-opening slump. Over the last 20  plate appearances LaRoche is reach base 14 times.  Those are nearly Hall of Fame numbers coming from where he has been. Even with the recent uptick in offensive production LaRoche is  still hitting just .196/ .291/ .314  with a grand total of three home runs and 10 RBI. La Roche suffered through an 0 for 26 slump  with a double and a walk in the final game of the Atlanta series. After striking out 30 times over 25 games, he has  only struck out three times in the past five games, and is 7 for  13 over that time. “Just being a little more patient overall, taking some walks, getting in some better hitter’s counts. For a week or two there, I felt like I was 1-2 every at-bat and in defensive mode. So getting back to seeing it again is nice.” said LaRoche Fantasy Play:  well it’s about time,  fantasy owners ran from LaRoche  in record numbers over the past few weeks as he is owned by 50% in ESPN leagues.  After clubbing 33 home runs in 2012 with 100 RBI it’s only a matter of time before LaRoche returns the form,  and that process may  be underway.

Turns out Suzuki didn't untuck voluntarily -- Denard Span did the honors during the postgame handshake...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Ryan Mattheus, Drew Storen and Rafael Soriano combined for shutout relief after Dan Haren nearly squandered a four-run lead, and the Washington Nationals beat the Detroit Tigers 5-4 Thursday to complete a two-game sweep of the AL champions. A Look At Tyler Clippard's Pitch Locations

In the eighth inning of the Nationals 3-1 win over the Tigers, the team's first win over the Detroit ballclub since 2005, Tyler Clippard came in to face Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder, which isn't the easiest task in the world. I wanna be like Bryce

I unfortunately snoozed through part of last night’s Cubs game with the Washington Nationals because Bryce Harper wasn’t playing.  Honestly, who can blame me?  Harper is one of the game’s most dynamic and intriguing players, having won NL Rookie of the Year last season (I thought it should’ve been Wade Miley, but I’m not complaining too much because both deserved it...
