Temple University is in need of a new head coach. Steve Addazio
This will be their third head coach in 4-years, as Steve Addazio has joined Al Golden in recent years to use Temple as a stepping stone job. While Golden went to Miami (FL), Addazio has accepted the Boston College head coaching position.
“Steve Addazio has done a tremendous job with Temple Football in his two years at the University, and we wish him nothing but the best,” said Temple University Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw. “Temple Football has never been stronger, and I am confident we will be able to attract a high-level pool of candidates for the position and the program will continue its upward momentum.”
Addazio was at Temple for the past two seasons, and helped the Owls to their first bowl game in 32-years last season. In that game, Temple beat Wyoming, 37-15, in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl.
This season, the Owls did not make a bowl game, as the team struggled in their return to the Big East Conference. It was their first season in the Big East Conference since 2004.
The Owls went 4-7 overall with a 2-5 conference record this season.
He has previously coached at Indiana, Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Western Connecticut State. He also was the associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Florida under Urban Meyer prior to coming to Temple.
While on the Florida staff, he helped the Gators to BCS National Championships in 2006 and 2008
“This is a well-connected guy in the football community,” said new Boston College Athletic Director Brad Bates, adding that he had only spoken generally to Addazio about assistant coaches. “He’s going to have an amazing collection of coaches that he can assemble.”

Since that time he got his shot at being a Head Coach at Temple. He is 13-11 in Philadelphia. As I posted previously, my gut reaction is that Addizio will be a fine coach. I don't think he has huge upside, but he will do enough...
