During the month of January, Brayden Schenn lost his spot on the Philadelphia Flyers’ top line, served a one-game suspension, and failed to score a single goal.
February has proven far more positive for the young forward.
Rebounding from his disappointing start, Schenn has quickly become Philadelphia’s hottest forward, with two goals and four assists in five February games. His season-best three point performance on Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes moved Schenn into a tie for second on the team in scoring, and caught the attention of coaches and teammates alike.
“Brayden had a real good game for us,” coach Peter Laviolette said in his post-game press conference. “He used his speed and was able to help contribute offensively.”
Although Schenn was held off the scoresheet during Thursday night’s game against the Florida Panthers, he helped to create numerous scoring chances and showed strong chemistr...

The injury bug has not been kind to the Philadelphia Flyers in this lockout shortened season, and goalies have been no exception. The Philadelphia Flyers begin a season-long, six-game road trip Monday night, a moment in their season that will answer questions about a club that has sent mixed messages about its status in the Eastern Conference.
Are they indeed still the contenders some people believe they are? Or a team in transition that needs a bit more growth of its...
In the early stages of this lockout-shortened season, the Philadelphia Flyers' offensive woes have been a main cause of a 5-6-1 start. In just three of the twelve games played, the Flyers scorers have found the back of the net more than three times.
With Scott Hartnell, who scored a team-leading 37 goals last season, sidelined by a foot injury, Claude Giroux struggling to find...
Following a slow start, the Philadelphia Flyers got a much-needed boost from a successful homestand. Their next challenge is keeping that momentum going on their longest road trip of the season.
In the opener of a six-game trek, the Flyers will try to add to the streaking Toronto Maple Leafs' home woes and continue their dominance in the series Monday night.

Time for: Patience
Why: The Flyers were getting perilously close to panic mode, but they staved it off by going 3-0-1 in their last four games, including a 4-3 overtime win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, when they blew a third-period lead but got a goal from Danny Briere in overtime.
"I would use...
The single greatest aspect of the Philadelphia Flyers is the “win now” attitude that Ed Snider has bred into the franchise. We, as fans, have always felt the Flyers would do everything in their power to ice the best team possible […]
Let's face it, the Hurricanes do not have a history of playing well against the Flyers, and this goes back to when the franchise was relocated to Raleigh. Since 1997, the Hurricanes have won only 30 of their 115 games against the Flyers and have earned points in a little over 36% of those games. Given that bit of information, some might be thankful that the Canes were able to...
Tonight’s action featured some great NHL GIFs of a great re-direct goal, a nasty assist, an insane coach, and more.
