Al Harrington said he is making progress as he attempts to return from issues in his right knee after a staph infection took hold in the joint last May. “It feels pretty good,” Harrington said after the Magic finished their shootaround at TD Garden this morning. “I’m getting in better shape. My wind is getting better. So I’m thinking now it’s just a matter of time. I’m just trying to get a couple of practices in; our schedule is not allowing that. But I feel good with everything I’m doing so far. “I feel like I’m really close now. I’m just going to keep working, keep rehabbing. I feel like there’s finally light at the end of the tunnel. I’m not sure exactly when I’ll probably get an opportunity to go out there, but I feel like it should be soon.” via Orlando Sentinel

Getting to know the Magic: Jacque Vaughn

The word player-coach stems back to even before the 1960s, when Bill Russell was both player and coach for the Boston Celtics. Although Russell is the most known player-coach in the NBA, the position was a staple for many professional teams. The practice is no longer allowed in the NBA. If it were, one would have to wonder if Orlando Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn could fill the...

Nikola Vucevic's improvement rewarded

Nikola Vucevic was named to the BBVA Compass Rising Stars game as one of the top first and second-year players in the NBA on Wednesday, joining a roster pool that includes All-Star Kyrie Irving, dynamic rebounder Kenneth Faried and sharpshooter Klay Thompson. I really is a just reward for Vucevic after standing out in the first half of the Magic's season. Vucevic is one of...

Comments from the Other Side - Magic 2/1

What would a Comments post be without a wheelchair mention and some officiating complaints.   Seems like they are in every thread.  Love that our bench is producing so well these past few games.   I was stuck with the Magic feed last night.  I missed Mike and Tommy but even worse, they kept getting the names of the Celtics wrong.   I've highlighted my favorites.  What...

Big city, broken dreams as Magic fall to Knicks

The Magic got to spend three days in the New York area and had two chances to get big wins against two good opponents. Each game, Orlando did a lot of things right and had a fantastic opportunity to score the two wins. Unfortunately, there just was not enough of the good for 48 minutes and the team's depth and inability to keep things going with the bench players in. And...

The Boston Celtics won their third-straight game without Rajon Rondo on the floor. With a 97-84 trouncing of the Orlando Magic, Boston is back at .500. Their 23-23 record has them holding tight for the eight-seed in the Eastern Conference.
