After a much-publicized spat with his general manager over when he was going to return to action, New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez returned to did just that last week when he reported to the Yankees minor affiliate in Charleston. And so far--not so good. Keith Allison/Flickr Rodriguez has not played much yet. After such long layoff the team wants to ease him back onto the field, and by the looks of things he is going to need all the time he can get. In limited action during two games (the team doesn't want to push him too hard after 9-months off thanks to hip surgery) he is 0-4 for with two strikeouts. After a horrible October it is not exactly what fans were hoping for--especially since its at the Single-A level--even after such a long break. A-rod is being very optimistic about it though. "I don't mind if I save all my hits for New York." It was encouraging to see him help turn a double play in his second game, but its clear he still has a...

Class-A move: A-Rod buys dinners

Maybe, Alex Rodriguez's bad rap is overblown. A-Rod, who spent part of his career attracting heavy criticism for how he conducts himself around the media and fellow players -- displayed some goodwill during his rehab stint in South Carolina. Rodriguez went hitless in his two games for the Charleston RiverDogs on Tuesday and Wednesday, but his Class-A teammates were lauding...

Alex Rodriguez to Be ‘Greatly Missed’ by Minor League Teammates After Buying Team Meal Twice During Rehab Stay

All along, all Alex Rodriguez had to do was buy Derek Jeter more dinner. That’s oversimplifying the art of being a good teammate, but Rodriguez — who has spent most of his career attracting heavy criticism for how he conducts himself around the media and fellow players — seems to have finally figured out the basic steps to goodwill in his latest minor league comeback. Rodriguez...

Alex Rodriguez well aware of critics and he’s not giving up

There is no player who has played the game of baseball better than Alex Rodriguez over the past 18 years. From his defensive play at shortstop and third base, to his ability to hit for average and power, along with a knack for stealing bases, the New York Yankees beleaguered and sometimes toxic third baseman has done it all better than anyone during his career. But he is more of...

A-Rod Gets Served by the New York Post…. Already!

Alex Rodriguez (hip) will make his next rehab appearance on tonight with High-A Tampa. A-Rod went 0-for-2 with a groundout and a strikeout in his rehab debut Tuesday at Low-A Charleston and then 0-for-2 with two groundouts in his second game with Charleston on Wednesday. But he played seven innings of defense at third base and reported no issues with his surgically-repaired hip....

Biogenesis whistleblower wants $1 million for his proof

Major League Baseball wants to nail alleged performance-enhancing drug users to the wall, especially Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Braun, two who have already skated by. But they will need more proof than they currently have, and they will have to pony-up the money if they way. Porter Fischer wants to be paid for the documents he claims to be in possession of, that prove that the aforementioned...

A-Rod Says He’s a Crazy Man and Won’t Quit on Yankees

The Yankees are probably wishing Alex Rodriguez quit on them. Even though, there has been rumors that A-Rod is on his way to retirement, he says that isn’t true. “I know people think I’m nuts,” the embattled Rodriguez told USA Today Sports. “I know most people wouldn’t want the confrontation. Most people would say, ‘Get me out of here. Trade me. Do anything.’ “But...

A-Rod: 'I love being in New York; I never want to leave'

New York Yankees fans got a mixed bag of news Thursday. "I love being a Yankee," Rodriguez told USA Today, in his first extensive interview since last October.          ...

Why The Albert Pujols Contract Is Already Worse Than The Alex Rodriguez Contract

It’s no secret that the Yankees took their place in ‘all time sports blunders’ history by signing Alex Rodriguez on for an additional ten years, at the hefty price of $275 million. But the contact the Angels offered Albert Pujols is proving to be even more of a disaster than the one bestowed upon Arod. The warning signs were there, the Angels simply chose to avoid them...

Point of No Return

Alex Rodriguez reached the point of no return a long time back but apparently he doesn't know it yet.  It happened when he went on the DL this last time.  Many people think it was when his name was mentioned in connection with the Miami PED clinic but no it was well before then. A-Rod was already tarnished by the PED brush.  In fact, he was pretty much covered in the paint...

A-Rod booed in a magical land of Yankee love

I have never been to Viera, Florida. Frankly, until yesterday, I never heard of the place. I assume it's a town named after Meredith Viera, which is long overdue. (Is there a Philbin, Arkansas?)Yesterday, the leather-tanned Yankee fans of Veira took time out from cooking meth and licking eyeballs to heartily boo Alex Rodriguez's every move, like critics at a Pauly Shore...

A-Rod: ‘I refuse to quit’
