Aaron Hernandez hasn’t been the sole root of the Patriots’ headache this offseason.
Cornerback Alfonzo Dennard who is still with the team made a surprise appearance at Lancaster County District Court in Lincoln Neb. yesterday morning for his alleged probation violation.
He wasn’t due in court until next Wednesday though it’s possible he was granted an earlier appearance because Patriots veterans report today for training camp. The appearance was even surprising to spokespersons in the probation and court clerk’s office whose records didn’t note Dennard’s arrival until late yesterday afternoon.
The County Attorney argued Dennard violated the terms of his probation by getting arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence refusing a chemical test and straddling the lane lines. Dennard is on probation for two years because he was found guilty in February of assaulting a police officer. Both instances occurred in Lincoln Neb.
