From Belly'sGo Sens Go to the more recent Peter Joynt CapCity track, the Ottawa Senators have become a popular source of material for local musicians and artists. With the conclusion of the lockout, it was only a matter of time before we could add another song to the stable of Senators inspired songs.  Reader Ken A. sent us an email alerting us to a new Sens-themed sing-along folk tune written by a friend of his named Craig Mainprize. I've embedded the track below and included the lyrics as well. If you want to download the track, you can do so by following the following link to Craig's Bandcamp page. Thanks again to Ken for sharing the song with us.  Just as a note to readers, if you ever have any opinion, information, story, or whatever that you want to share, please do not hesitate to email us using the contact section of this website.  Alive and Well (Gonna Get 'er to Go) by Craig Mainprize There is a game that people play.  If you've got sn...

Senators head coach has a doppelganger

This was absolutely bizarre.  When I first saw it I thought I was just seeing things, but Ottawa Senators Head Coach Paul MacLean definitely had his doppleganger in attendance at their game against Florida on Monday night.Seriously, it looks like some bizarre reflection, but it’s actually some random guy that could 100% be his clone/twin.I hope someone finds out where this guy...

Paul MacLean Imposter Sits Behind Ottawa Senators Coach During Game, Is Removed From Arena by Security

With a mustache that would make Ron Burgundy proud, Ottawa Senators head coach Paul MacLean is a rather recognizable figure. So it caught many by surprise when a man who looked exactly like the MacLean appeared behind the Senators’ bench during a game against the Florida Panthers on Monday. The prank took some serious effort on the part of the imposter, as he not only replicated...

Karlsson Picks Up Assist In New And Innovative Way

Add an assist on the #Sens fourth goal to Erik Karlsson. He finishes game with 1 goal, 2 assists. #Sensareback — Ottawa Senators (@NHL_Sens) January 19, 2013 To the video... I'm not sure if this should be placed in group D, or if this qualifies as a new group entirely - play where Karlsson doesn't touch the puck. Great scorers they got working there at MTS.

Anderson, making his second straight start to open the season, picked up his 20th career shutout. Jim O'Brien and Jakob Silfverberg, with his first NHL goal, also scored for the Senators. Travis Yost: Puck Possession Clinic: Senators Rout Cats 4-0

Make sure to follow Travis on Twitter! -- If you wanted a lesson on Paul MacLean's puck-possession system in Ottawa, the sixty minutes of tonight's tilt between the Panthers and Senators was ample instruction. The Ottawa Senators controlled play for the vast majority of the night, applied consistent pressure on Florida Panthers netminder Jose Theodore, and left the...

Travis Yost: Erik Karlsson Leads Ottawa Past Winnipeg

Make sure to follow Travis on Twitter! -- The more things change, the more things stay the same. The Ottawa Senators hadn't played an official game in almost nine months, but at the end of sixty minutes, they had once again bested the Winnipeg Jets, this time by a final score of 4-1. And, once again, the push was driven by a twenty-two year-old defending Norris Trophy winner...

Senators continue to rule Panthers at home

OTTAWA -- As much as Canadians like to go south at this time of year, the Ottawa Senators always welcome a visit by the Florida Panthers. Former Panther Craig Anderson kicked aside 31 shots and Kyle Turris paced the attack with two goals as the Senators dumped Florida 4-0 in their home opener on Monday night at Scotiabank Place. The Senators have sent the Panthers away disappointed...

Today in Low Hanging Fruit: Kovalev Back in Ottawa

"And the fact I am criticized … There are different journalists. My opinion of Ottawa journalists is that they don 't watch hockey at all. When they fly with the team and go through the [metal detector] at an airport, their bags are filled with beer. You realize right away what these people do when they write about the NHL." ~ Alexei Kovalev, scapegoat – August...

Panthers-Senators Preview

The Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators made noteworthy turnarounds last season and enter this campaign looking for more following first-round playoff defeats. Each team opened this season with a victory but the Senators might have a better chance at another one Monday night, judging by their recent home dominance of the Panthers. Florida finished last in the Eastern Conference...
