Found April 10, 2012 on Plaschke, Thy Sweater Is Argyle:
PLAYERS: Ryan Getzlaf
TEAMS: Anaheim Ducks

If someone had only seen my blog posts from the beginning of 2012 up until today, it would appear that Ryan Getzlaf was my number one PC. He is most certainly my favorite hockey player, and one of my four primary collections, but the insane number of his hits I've acquired in this final year of human existence is based off of their relative inexpensive nature more than anything else. I've got a post in the works that will delve further into that topic but for now, here's yet another Captain Getz pickup from eBay.Numbered 14/25, it's another super sweeeet patch that is bulging (phrasing....boom) out of the card and features multiple rows of stitching and two colors. Checking in at $5.01 delivered, it pairs up exceptionally well with the regular old jersey piece I already have from '11-'12 Panini Limited (at the bottom of this here post).Limited is a fantastic product, with a black and white background allowing the color photo of the player to really pop. It po...

An Autograph Against The Glass: Ryan Getzlaf.

Another steal of a deal to post on today, and another Card Draft-funded purchase. The moment I saw Ryan Getzlaf was a part of the Against The Glass autograph set in Panini's 2010-2011 Playoff Contenders product, I knew I had to add the card to my Captain Getz PC. I finally found one at a price I was more than happy with, and took it home for $9.50 shipped. For an on-card autograph...

Trade With Bryan1121982: More Getzlaf Dominion, Eh? Eh Indeed.

Am I ever glad I joined SCF when I did. I came to the site looking to score some sweet Ryan Getzlaf cards, and the first trade I made did just that for me. It's my first trade with Bryan1121982, who posted some cards he was looking to move. Two jumped right out at me, and we quickly had a deal in place that netted me the below pair of awesomeness for just $16.First up, yet another...

Ducks lament slow start, prepare for future

Teemu Selanne insists the Anaheim Ducks really are the team that surged through the past 31/2 months with one of the NHL's best records, not the sad sacks who bumbled into an inescapable hole in the standings to start the season. While the Ducks packed up their lockers Monday after missing the playoffs for the second time in three years, the front office turned its attention...

Fun jabs at the expense of YOUR NHL team.

Anaheim Ducks – If Ryan Getzlaf got his head out of his ass and had played like a franchise player like he is supposed to be the Ducks wouldn’t have been cellar dwellers for most of the season. You sucked this year, completely sucked worse than suck can suck. Boston Bruins – Tim Thomas [...]

Murray, Ducks contemplate changes

Changes will certainly happen within the Ducks and they must after limping to the finish line and missing the Stanley Cup playoffs for the second time in three seasons. How significant those changes are will be the question that general manager Bob Murray mulls over as he looks to fix the problems that afflicted his underperforming team. The Ducks will be able to replace aging...

Steve Palumbo: Western Conference Quarterfinals Predictions + Ducks Lose Draft Lottery

Just a quick Anaheim Ducks note before my predictions. The NHL held the draft lottery last night and of course the Oilers won. They will draft first for the third consecutive season - hardly seems fair. Anyway, that means the Ducks stay put with the sixth pick. I suspect Anaheim will draft a player that fits an organizational need rather than the best player available. Just my thought....
