It’s been a tough rookie season for Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond. Beyond dealing with the normal adjustment that comes from moving from the college ranks to the NBA (Drummond attended the University of Connecticut), the No. 9 overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft has been dealing with a back injury that kept him out of action before Sunday’s matchup against the Bulls. However, Detroit appears to have packed it in on this season, so in the 19-year-old’s first game back from the injury he also made his first career start, and the team plans to gradually ramp up his minutes through the rest of the season. So how did Drummond respond to the pressure of his first start? Not well, apparently. With the game tied at 78 with just over nine minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Drummond was fouled and sent to the line, giving Detroit a chance to take the lead. Except that everything went horribly wrong once Drummond got to the line, as he not only missed both free throws, but only one of them so much as skimmed the net. Check out the rookie’s embarrassment in the video below.
