Newly signed Cleveland Cavaliers center Andrew Bynum had a 2012-2013 season to forget. However, this hasn’t lessened his expectations moving forward. Agent told Jason Lloyd of the Beacon Journal that his client’s knees are going to be a problem this season, adding that Bynum expects “to be nothing less than an All-Star” in 2013-14.“His expectation is to be nothing less than an All-Star next year,” David Lee told the Akron Beacon Journal on Thursday. “Now I don’t know if anybody wants to say that out loud because there’s always a hesitancy to put pressure on himself. But in his mind, absolutely. He doesn’t see any reason why not.”Bynum miss all of last season due to issues stemming from his knees. He underwent arthroscopic surgery on both knees in March, but his agent considers the previous campaign to be nothing more than “an aberration.”“He’s ready to go,” Lee said. “I don’t think [the knees] are going to be a prohibitive issue. I think last year was an aberration for a whole host of reasons.”Bynum’s new contract protects the Cavs from a significant amount of risk, but they are counting on the big man to help them become a player in the East. If they’re able to do that, they may become an intriguing landing spot for top free agents such as LeBron James.Follow @hoopsinjurynews
