Found August 17, 2013 on MLB Injury News:
When the Los Angeles Angels placed first baseman Albert Pujols on the disabled list with a partially torn plantar fascia, most expected him to be done for the remainder of the season. Pujols said that he was hopeful he could return in 2013, but with the Angels in the midst of another losing season, many considered this to be lip service, a mere pipe dream. However, Pujols, who recently shed his walking boot, continues to say that he hopes to return at some point this year, according to William Boor of MLB.com. "I'm targeting a day and hopefully by that day, I feel good," Pujols said. "When I start hitting and doing more exercise, I think I'll have a pretty good idea. I have a day in my mind, but if it's not that day, then I have to see where it goes from there." Pujols is anxious to rejoin the Angels lineup this season, but he added that he doesn’t want to rush his rehab and cause a setback that will impact his 2014 campaign. "Just going to take it day by day," Pujols said. "I don't want to go back to what I was just because I'm rushing. I'm listening to the doctor." Considering the person that Pujols appears to be, he is itching to get back with his team and prove that his contract was at least somewhat warranted. Unfortunately for the Halos, it was anything but to this point, as Pujols hit .258/.330/.437 this year and is owed another $212 million through the 2021 campaign, when the slugger will be 41 years old. Hamilton, Frieri lead Angels in walk-off win over Astros

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- It was another throwback night at Angel Stadium with the Halos wearing the 1960's edition of their uniforms and a Beatles' tribute band providing nostalgic postgame entertainment. The nostalgia wasn't limited to the baseball aesthetics Saturday night as a pair of Angels showed a resurrection of their former greatness. Josh Hamilton -- who has battled...

Injury bug leads to more of the same for Bourjos

ANAHEIM, Calif. This should have been a memorable season for Peter Bourjos, but like the team he plays for, big expectations fell flat. It wasn't Bourjos' fault. Far from it. A summer that looked like his opportunity to bloom as a center fielder and leadoff hitter basically turned to mush. Bourjos fell victim to injuries that cost him 77 games, the latest a broken right...

Nelson, Wilson Shine: Angels Beat Yankees 8-4

In a series that had the Halos faltering from the mound and the plate, C.J. Wilson and Chris Nelson turned in great performances to help the Angels avoid a four game sweep.  Wilson pitched 6 2/3 innings, giving up only one run, while Nelson did his best Alfonso Soriano impression, driving in 5 runs.  His grand salami in the 8th inning gave the Angels a 7 run lead, thus granting...

Angels Fall To The Astros 7-5, Mike Trout Possibly Day-To-Day With Right Hamstring Tightness

rss2

And so it begins, Angels fall to Astros 7-5

At least the Angels were able to avoid an all too likely sweep by the Astros this weekend, instead of the usual rolling over act. The bullpen came in and blew a not so great start by Jason Vargas, who left the Angels in a position to win the game despite a shaky afternoon. It's hard to imagine the Angels could make us feel any worse than another pathetic series loss against the...
