The Philadelphia Eagles have turned the quarterback position over to rookie Nick Foles for the rest of the season which leads everyone to believe one thing: Michael Vick’s days are numbered in Philly. If that is true then we will find out soon if Vick still has a future as a starting quarterback in the NFL. More than likely Vick will be playing for a new team by the start of next season. He has too much talent for some teams to pass up. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE »

Where will Michael Vick end up in 2013?

Mike Vick is a mystery to most football fans. When he hit the field three years ago as a beneficiary of a Kevin Kolb injury, he was thrust into the spotlight and performed like everyone thought he would. Like his potential dictated when the Atlanta Falcons took him in the first round. That was so many years and so many animal abuse trials ago and he isn't the young man or transcendent...

Some Thoughts After The Eagles Win Against The Bucs

Going into Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay, there were two things I wanted to see out of the Eagles. First and foremost was improvement out of Nick Foles. The second was improvement from the defense. Win or lose, I didn’t care too much as long as I saw those things. Let’s start with Foles. Week by week, he is making positive strides. With the announcement that Michael Vick...

Philadelphia Eagles take on rejuvenated Buccaneers

It was a hectic week around the Nova Care Complex for the Philadelphia Eagles. As you all know, the Eagles fired defensive line coach Jim Washburn in a surprising late season move. It has been reported that Washburn was fired, in part, because of his attitude and behavior around the team. Many sources, including ESPN, have said that Washburn was very disrespectful to other coaches...

Most devastating fantasy football player 2012 injuries

I am looking specifically at the guys that went in the first couple of rounds because those are the injuries that hurt most. Disappointments, duds, $#&*, call them what you will as I present you the most devastating injuries of the 2012 fantasy football season.

Eagles Recap Plus a Look Ahead to Nick Foles' Biggest Test

Photo: David Maialetti The Philadelphia Eagles now have a more recent win than the Phillies, woohoo!  After a long eight-game slide, the hometown birds are finally back in the W column by beating the playoff hopeful Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rookie QB Nick Foles is certainly impressing everyone from fans, to teammates, to coaches.  He looked like a poised veteran when he threw the...

NFL Coroner's Report: Philadelphia Eagles Autopsy

When 32 souls are running about, and there's only enough air for 12 to breathe, it's inevitable that we're going to see 20 of them drop like flies, landing with a thud only heard when a team has collapsed among broken hopes and unreached expectations. The best we can do here at the Football Nation Morgue is cut them open, probe around, and provide a sense of finality to...

Eagles Squeak By Buccaneers: Hero & Zero of the Game

Going into Sunday afternoon's game, it had been 70 days since the Philadelphia Eagles tasted victory. To put their losing streak into perspective, 69 days ago from Sunday, the Eagles' allies from across the street, the Phillies, had won a game more recently than them.70 days later, the Eagles finally showed up with what they had been missing -- heart.Rookie quarterback Nick...

Eagles win first time since September with 23-21 victory over Tampa Bay

Nick Foles was stairing 1940 in the face when the Eagles had the ball with :02 seconds on the clock and down by five points in the fourth quarter and the ball on the Bucs’ one-yard line. He became a man, a quarterback, a first stringer when he hit Jeremy Maclin with a low ball for the touchdown. By rule, the extra point has to be kicked and the Eagles had a two-point victory. The...

Buccaneers struggle to protect leads

The fading Tampa Bay Buccaneers talk about needing to make more plays. Coach Greg Schiano just wants his players to concentrate on doing their jobs at all times. The coach rejected the notion Monday that the Bucs (6-7) failed to protect a fourth-quarter lead for the fourth time this season because they did not make enough plays down the stretch of a last-second 23-21 loss to rookie...

Livefyre In-Game report---Eagles vs. Bucs at Tampa...

One of the keys of the game I'll be watching is whether or not the Eagles will take the guvna' off Nick Foles' throwing arm. Tampa Bay's secondary is not known this year for very good coverage. So when "Shaggy" starts out in that run-base personnel package, and the Bucs start lining up 8 or 9 guys in the box, will he get the green light to audible...

Eagles 23, Tampa Bay 21... comfort food for Birds fans as Foles and Avant shine...

Nice to report a last-second come-from-behind victory for the Eagles...losing eight in a row was starting to wear on me...not to mention the players themselves. I'm still not sure this road win was a turning point as far as the 2013 season is concerned... but it sure made 2012 a whole lot more digestible.         Jason Avant, the 7th-year WR...

Eagles 23, Buccaneers 21

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Philadelphia Eagles scored two touchdowns in the final four minutes -- the last on a 1-yard Nick Foles pass to Jeremy Maclin as time expired -- to overcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-21 at Raymond James Stadium. The Eagles converted a fourth-and-5 on a 22-yard pass from Foles to Jason Avant with 16 seconds remaining. On the final play, Maclin sprinted to the...
