Josh Donaldson hit Oakland's third home run of the game, a tiebreaking drive off Boone Logan in the eighth inning that lifted the Athletics over the New York Yankees 5-4 Sunday.
Luke Montz and Yoenis Cespedes homered as Oakland took a 4-1 lead against Andy Pettitte, who struggled for the second straight start, but the Yankees rallied in the sixth against reliever Jerry Blevins.
Preston Claiborne, a 25-year-old right-hander, followed Pettitte and retired six straight batters in his major league debut. But Donaldson homered into the left-field second deck with one out in the eighth against Logan (2-2).
Sean Doolittle (2-0) pitched a perfect seventh, and Ryan Cook got out of a two-on, one-out jam in the eighth by striking out Jayson Nix and retiring Lyle Overbay on a flyout to deep center.

Which team do you think has been the most surprising in the American League to start the year? Which team would you think has been the most disappointing? I can give you a clue on who are my lead teams for both categories.

Personally, I've never really wanted hair of any professional athlete but at the end of the day, it might be a cool keepsake.
Last weekend, the Oakland Athletics player wives held a silent auction to benefit Autism awareness and many different items were up for bid including some recently cut hair off the head of outfielder Josh Reddick.
Two A's fans named Tony and...

If Jason Nix didn't either hit a foul ball pop up caught by an infielder, or strike out, with Yankees in scoring position, we would have already won 6 more games instead of lost them. This guy should never be allowed to hit at an important moment in a game. His .200 BA was built by two out singles, with no one on, in games that were either already won or lost based upon unbalance...
