Just about every report coming out this next week will lead to an article titled, "[Any NFL player] a possibility for Atlanta."  Odds are one or two will be right with the remaining being "not even close."  This next one has a great Atlanta connection and would fill our biggest need with an immediate veteran presence. Elvis Dumervil may be on the way out in Denver after the Broncos felt his contract was too damn high.  Reports on Dumervil and why he fits in Atlanta after the jump. The Broncos are unsure if they want to pay Elvis $12 million this season despite his 11 sack season.  Denver may try to pick up Dwight Freeny, probably for less money.  I have a theory that Peyton Manning is their General Manager and wants every player Manning ever worked with. Broncos like pass rusher Elvis Dumervil, but not at $12M/year. They are seeking a lower deal, and situation could end up with his release... — Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) March 6, 2013 End up with his release?  Dumervil had his best season in 2009 when he put up an unreal 17 sacks under defensive coordinator... Mike Nolan.  17 sacks!   For comparison purposes, Atlanta as a team put up 29 sacks last year and just cut the guy that had 10 of those.  We currently have no one who can get to the quarterback more than once every couple of weeks. Atlanta has the need, cap space and connection with Dumervil.  Maybe all we need him to do is refuse to take a pay cut in Denver.
