Found March 20, 2013 on Madtown Badgers:
We're under 48 hours till tip-off between the Badgers and Rebels in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. No doubt Wisconsin is looking to avoid the dreaded 5-12 upset to say the least. However, the opponent for the Badgers isn't exactly a household name in these parts of the country.  After all, Ole Miss and Wisconsin have NEVER met before in the history of the two schools. So, it's doubtful you and I are experts on what's going on down in Mississippi and as such we reached out to the fine folks of Red Cup Rebellion to give us the lowdown on their team and the matchup against Wisconsin from their perspective.  Enjoy the Q&A and make sure you follow them on Twitter for all their perspective on the game Friday.  MTB: Marshall Henderson is the star of this team, no question about it, but you've got to be more than a one trick pony to make the NCAA tournament. Who else should Wisconsin fans look out for? RCR: The two guys to watch outside of Hend...

Marshall Henderson Mocks Kentucky, NIT Tournament on Twitter for Wildcats’ First-Round Loss

Love him or hate him, the Rebels’ loose cannon is making himself a household name entering this week’s NCAA Tournament. Marshall Henderson earned national recognition during last week’s SEC Tournament after making headlines and becoming a YouTube sensation through his crazy antics following consistent buckets against some of the nation’s top-talent. Well, he’s back at...

Mississippi's colorful Henderson hits big stage

The Marshall Henderson road show has at least one more stop. Mississippi's polarizing and high-scoring guard averaged more than 23 points per game in the Rebels' run to a Southeastern Conference title. Along the way, he dumped 27 points on Missouri, flummoxed Vanderbilt's defense and mocked Florida's crowd by doing the school's gator chomp after making a big...

Mississippi 57, No. 18 Wisconsin 46

Marshall Henderson shook out of a shooting slump and scored 17 points in the second half, leading 12th-seeded Mississippi past No. 5 Wisconsin 57-46 on Friday, giving the Rebels their first NCAA tournament win since 2002. For the cold-shooting Badgers (23-12), the upset loss snaps a string of six straight first-game victories. Ole Miss (27-8) trailed 25-22 at halftime and Henderson...

Henderson is a (mouth) runnin Rebel

KANSAS CITY, Mo. They surged into the Ole Miss locker room like an overflowing riverbank Thursday morning, holding cameras and tape recorders meant specifically for the most entertaining and controversial player in college basketball. He had been called talkative. Cocky. Brash. And surely a few other unprintable words uttered from opposing players on the court. Dozens of media members...

Colorful Ole Miss star lights up Kansas City

Mississippi coach Andy Kennedy compares watching Marshall Henderson to watching NASCAR. The wrecks are both unpredictable and inevitable. The Rebels' colorful, polarizing guard drew plenty of attention on Thursday in Kansas City, where No. 12 seed Ole Miss is preparing to play fifth-seeded Wisconsin in the NCAA tournament Friday. When the Rebels' locker room opened, dozens...

Bruesewitz Unfazed By Henderson's Talk

Badger forward Mike Bruesewitz shakes off brash Mississippi star Marshall Henderson's tweets leading up to their first round clash in the NCAA Tournament.

Marshall, Marshall, Marshall... Ole Miss Blows Up Brackets

((HT: CBSSports/NCAA/Turner)) And if your bracket was full before this game, odds are it's not in place now. Tournament heel Marshall Henderson started out the game going 3-for-17 from the field, but Ole Miss went on a run and closed out Wisconsin 57-46. A lot of people (whoever "people" are- commonly confused with "conventional wisdom") think that Ole...

Quite the Characters

With his antics and his willingness to hoist up 3-pointers, junior Marshall Henderson grabs a lot of the headlines for Ole Miss, Wisconsin's first opponent in the NCAA Tournament. But with Henderson being the focal point, the Rebels have a lot of other key components that can give teams trouble.

Wisconsin goes cold falls 57-46 in NCAA tourney

Wisconsin's vaunted defense did its job, holding Mississippi to its lowest point total of the year. It was the suspect offense that failed. The Badgers put up 59 shots against Ole Miss on Friday but made only 15 of them. So Bo Ryan's team headed home after a 57-46 loss that snapped a six-year string of first-game wins for one of the NCAA's most consistently successful...

NCAA Tournament Live: Marshall Henderson’s Ole Miss, Doug McDermott’s Creighton Look to Make Noise on Second Day

8 a.m. ET: March Madness this time around is a little different than it has been in years past, with no clear-cut No. 1 team and few big-name players ready to etch themselves into NCAA Tournament lore. What’s so great about March Madness, though, is that even when the odds are stacked in one direction, anything can happen. Two players who have already grabbed some headlines before...

SEC may have a Cinderella in the NCAAs

The snubs were not unexpected. In fact, they weren't really snubs. As much as Kentucky fans want to believe their Wildcats deserved the benefit of the doubt on Selection Sunday, the defending national champions simply weren't that good. Neither was Alabama, nor Vanderbilt, or even 20-12 Tennessee. Only three SEC teams made it to the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and...

Badgers' scout team had tiring task

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Wisconsin guard Zak Showalter dribbled down court during practice on Wednesday and spotted an open teammate cutting to the basket. Instincts, naturally, told him to zip a pass through the defense so the scout team could score two points against the Badgers' starters. He did ... only to find himself reprimanded and briefly pulled from the floor. If that reaction...

NCAA Tournament: Friday Round Of 64

Moving onto today’s actions. Some preview-ish type of thoughts: ****The Marshall Henderson Show hits the NCAA Tournament this afternoon. Here’s the deal with Henderson. He’s a good player, not a great player, who can light up the nets and his mouth, bringing an excitement to the gym that was sorely needed across the SEC Basketball landscape this winter. When he’s on, like...

2013 March Madness – West Region (First Weekend)

The West region is where there could be some turbulence the first weekend. That is because mid-major but not really a mid-major darling Gonzaga is the number one seed. The Zags resume isn’t overly impressive but their 31-2 overall record was too hard for the committee not to reward. Another mid-major darling in the region is number three seed New Mexico. Everyone seems to be really...
