CHICAGO -- With the NFL trade deadline fast approaching, the Bears opted to upgrade their defensive line by acquiring Tampa Bay defensive end Gaines Adams in exchange for a 2010 second-round pick.The Bears are expected to make a corresponding roster move on Saturday in order to reach the maximum allotment of 53 players on their active roster. A former first-round pick out of Clemson, Adams recorded a combined 12.5 sacks in his first two seasons, but had just one in five games this year for Tampa Bay. Adams will likely be asked to contribute immediately against Atlanta, since fellow defensive linemen Anthony Adams and Israel Idonije are dealing with Injuries. This could also provide some insurance in the event Adewale Ogunleye and Mark Anderson leave via free agency at the end of the season.
