The Bengals have gotten back into playoff contention by winning games in a lopsided way. A 34-10 win over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday was Cincinnati's third in a row. All three have been by at least 18 points, the first time a Bengals team has strung together three straight blowouts since 1976. At 6-5, they're back in contention, tied with Pittsburgh for the final AFC wild-card berth. The Steelers won at Paul Brown Stadium earlier this season, giving them the head-to-head tiebreaker. Coach Marvin Lewis said Monday that the Bengals are ''not in great position, but OK position.'' They're at San Diego (4-7) next Sunday, followed by a home game against Dallas (5-6). They play at Philadelphia (3-7) and Pittsburgh before hosting AFC North leader Baltimore (9-2). --- Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL

Bengals fans pour beer on Palmer?

Fans at Paul Brown Stadium reportedly dumped beer on Carson Palmer as he left the field after the Bengals beat the Raiders.

Bengals are turning their season around

CINCINNATI - Andrew Whitworth was at the bottom of a large pile of very large people, and he could feel punches hitting his neck, back and shoulders. The Bengals offensive tackle was there because Raiders defensive tackle Lamarr Houston had hit Andy Dalton late, and Whitworth took exception. Words were exchanged, then Houston lunged at Whitworth, then all sorts of heck broke loose...

Mohamed Sanu might have earned his new role

Bengals rookie WR Mohamed Sanu caught five balls for 29 yards and two touchdowns in Cincinnati’s Week 12 win over Oakland.Sanu now has four red-zone touchdowns in his last three games. It’s an obviously unsustainable rate of scoring, but Sanu has played himself onto the fantasy radar as the emerging clear-cut No. 2 receiver in Cincinnati’s offense, behind A.J. Green. Sanu has...

Welcome back Palmer: Bengals beat up Raiders in Carson's return to Cincy

Former Cincinnati Bengal and current Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer returned to his old stomping grounds and was bested by his replacement, Andy Dalton. Palmer went 19 of 34 for 146 yards with four sacks and an interception. In contrast, Dalton looked solid. He was 16 of 30 for 210 yards with two TD passes, one to Mohamed Sanu and one to Jermaine Gresham. Palmer could...

Cincinnati Bengals: Andy Dalton Joins Peyton Manning & Dan Marino

He has joined a category that no one has been in since...

Andy Dalton Guns Down Raiders

Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has 10 touchdowns and zero turnovers over his last three games.Fantasy Spin:Dalton turned the ball over at least once in each of his first eight games but he's been on fire as of late. His success probably has something to do with playing a reeling Giants team begging for a bye week and then Kansas City and Oakland over the last three games. Hopefully...

Dalton dices up Raiders in Bengals' win

Andy Dalton threw three touchdown passes and the Cincinnati Bengals showed their former franchise quarterback that they've moved on without him, beating Carson Palmer and the Oakland Raiders 34-10 on Sunday. BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran for 129 yards and a touchdown against the NFL's most generous defense. He had runs of 48 and 39 yards - the longest of his career - to set...

Cincinnati Bengals: Moving back into playoff race

Many pundits were willing to write off the Cincinnati Bengals after thier four-game losing streak in the middle of the season. Don’t look now, but the Bengals have won three in a row and find themselves on the cusp of the playoffs. Averaging 31 points per game against the New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders, the Bengals are currently 6-5 and look to move...

Palmer’s homecoming not so sweet

Bengals fans had this game circled on their calendar.  For some, this was the game when we could show Palmer what a dumb decision he made by choosing to sit out and eventually join the Raiders over staying in Cincinnati and playing.  For others, they wanted to boo the guy for the way he quit. Others just hoped the Bengals could continue their dominance in the last few weeks with...

Bengals 34, Raiders 10

CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Bengals fans gave Carson Palmer a rude welcome back in his first trip to Paul Brown Stadium since being traded to Oakland last year. The Bengals were even less hospitable. Bengals ruin Palmer's homecoming with 34-10 win

The purple bruises on his passing shoulder. The raw, red scrape down the middle of his back. Carson Palmer's upper body was a colorful reminder of how badly his homecoming turned out. No fun at all for him or the Oakland Raiders, either. The Bengals got back into the playoff race on Sunday by beating their former franchise quarterback and his new team 34-10. Cincinnati (6-5...
