Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson pleaded not guilty in a Kentucky court to charges of trafficking marijuana in excess of eight ounces on Monday.The felony is punishable by one to five years in prison. Judge Gregory Bartlett gave Simpson until Tuesday to post a $2,500 bond.The 26-year-old had a marijuana shipment tracked to his residence by a special narcotics unit last September. Authorities say that a 2.5 pound package of marijuana was delivered to Simpson's residence. A subsequent search of his home revealed another six pounds of marijuana and paraphernalia associated with packaging and smoking it. His next court appearance is set for February 20.Simpson will become a free agent on March 13.
