New York Jets
The Kyle Williams-led Bills defense and gusting winds in Buffalo combined to be too much for the New York Jets and rookie quarterback Geno Smith.
Williams had two sacks and forced a fumble, and Jairus Byrd had two interceptions as the Bills turned four turnovers by Smith into 17 points in a 37-14 win Sunday.
Starting with EJ Manuel's 34-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Graham, Buffalo scored 17 points over a span of 2:50 to build a 20-0 lead with 65 seconds left in the first half. Safety Da'Norris Searcy put the game away with 1:14 left in the third quarter when he returned an interception 32 yards to make it 34-7. Marquise Goodwin also scored on a 43-yard catch for Buffalo.
The Bills (4-7) snapped a three-game skid and enter their bye week by winning for only the second time in seven games.
The Jets (5-5), coming off their bye, continued their string of inconsistent outings in having failed to yet win or lose consecutive games this season. They became the NFL's first tea...
BEST OF MAXIM
The NFL is turning into a football analytics league, meaning teams are putting a lot of faith in statistics than they are in the scouting eye. Well the Jets have one of the best football analytic people in football in John Idzik, but did he make a mistake with Geno Smith? I know it is […]
On the first drive of the afternoon, the New York Jets lost quarterback Geno Smith. Smith was leveled on a pass attempt by Buffalo Bills defender DT Marcell Dareus. Matt Simms is warming up on the sidelines. For the season, the Jets have alternated wins and losses every other week since the first week of the regular season. Prior to their bye week, the Jets won, defeating the New...
New York Jets quarterback, Geno Smith, had a rough day in the Jets’ loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Smith was benched in the fourth quarter and I think he just threw another interception. However, Josh Alper of NBCSports reports that Smith’s fourth quarter benching is not likely to carry over into the Jets next game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Smith baked four football...

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The New York Jets inconsistent win-loss streak continues. Playing in Buffalo to take on their AFC East opponent Bills, the Jets seemed to have left their game in Jersey. The New York Jets continued their bizarre, incredibly frustrating season with a 37-14 whipping at the hands of the Buffalo Bills. This is a team that can still find no measure of consistency and yet because of how weak the AFC is on the back end, remain right in the thick of the playoff race.
Geno Smith was awful today. He finished 8/23 for 103 yards, with a fumble lost and 3 interceptions...

There's no truth to the rumor that Geno Smith was so bad at skee ball that he was replaced by Matt Simms.
Now, seriously: The New York Jets weren't blown out Sunday by the Buffalo Bills because they spent a couple of hours Saturday afternoon at a Dave & Buster's in a Buffalo suburb -- a team field trip that has garnered far too much attention. No, the Jets lost...
The New York Jets came off their bye week in playoff contention with renewed optimism. They flew into Buffalo only to leave with their wings clipped. It was never competitive. It was all Bills, all day. Here is the good, the bad and the ugly:The GoodEd Reed. The Jets picked up Reed off the waiver wire to procur his services for their underachieving secondary. While Reed...
The Jets failed to claim a chokehold on the final playoff spot in the AFC, struggling mightily on offense while yielding big plays on defense. Rookie quarterback Geno Smith regressed after the Jets’ bye week, chucking three interceptions while completing just eight passes. For the Jets to rebound after a prototypical ugly defeat, they need to upend the Baltimore Ravens (4-6) on...
Despite a dreadful performance on Sunday and 19 total turnovers through ten games this season, Rex Ryan is adamant that Geno Smith will remain the starter when the Jets head to Baltimore in Week 12.

Buffalo came to play in their week 11 contest against the New York Jets in the second of two meetings this season. After dropping the first meeting earlier this season, Buffalo took New York out to the woodshed with a 37-14 victory on a unseasonably warm Western New York Sunday. Buffalo beat up and battered Jets quarterback Geno Smith all day long...
