The Blues aren't planning on offering Jamie Langenbrunner a new contract according to a new report from Andy Strickland. Langenbrunner is coming off of a one-year, $1.25 million deal with the Blues and will be an unrestricted free agent on July 5th.  Langenbrunner told Strickland that he doesn't believe he's in the team's plans for 2013-14, but would still like to play at least one more season in the NHL.  It was always doubtful that Langenbrunner would be back with the Blues for another season. At 37, the veteran appears to be in the final stages of his career and serious injuries have some doubting that he still has what it takes to be a contributor at the NHL level. He was only able to suit up in four NHL games during the 2013 season due to a torn labrum in his hip.  The Blues have lost significant veteran leadership over the last few weeks with the retirement announcements from Andy McDonald and Scott Nichol. There's a chance the Blues invite Langenbrunner to camp to see what he has left if they're still lacking veteran experience and no one else has claimed him, but it appears the club will go out and acquire some through free agency or a trade.  Langenbrunner has played in 74 regular season games with the Blues, scoring six goals and 19 assists.
