Breath easy Boise State Bronco fans. The NCAA has gotten rid of the rule that says a uniform cannot match the color of the field that it plays on. The MWC, after hearing that BSU would remain a member, lobbied for Boise to be able to wear all blue uniforms and it apparently worked. The term Smurf Turf refers to the color of the field on which Boise plays that happens to be blue grass. It was called that because of a TV Show called The Smurfs in which the characters were all blue. Now Bronco fans can rest easy and know their beloved blue on blue uniforms can still be a reality.

NCAA gives Boise State the ‘OK’ to wear their all-blue uniforms on their blue field

The NCAA Rules Committee has finally granted Boise State the approval to wear their all-blue jerseys on their all-blue "Smurf Turf".
