By SBRForum.com Things have not been going well for the Boston College Eagles this year, as they are 2-8 and have suffered some extremely close losses over the last few weeks.  They have a chance to redeem themselves this week though as they take on the 4-6 Virginia Tech Hokies at home. Both teams are middle of the road as it pertains to stats this year, they both have their strengths as a team that will help elevate them to a win if they play effectively and make as few mistakes as possible. As it pertains to the Hokies, they certainly are not the best team in the league at anything, but they are not even close to the worst, which is an asset.  They are in the middle of the pack in passing yards, rushing yards, points scored and points allowed, so they are not going to be blowing out teams any time in the near future, but they will almost always have a fighting chance.  As for Boston College, they have struggled with running the ball as well as scoring points throughout the year.  They need to find a way to get into the end zone frequently this coming Saturday or they could be looking at a severe loss at home. While they have the tools to be a great football team, they simply have not been able to get things going and put up victories throughout the year.  The Hokies are not the most imposing force in college football, but they can surprise teams if they are not careful, so the Eagles will need to be on edge going into the game. The college football odds have the Hokies favored at -9 against the Eagles going into their game on Saturday.  This may well become a reality if Boston College cannot get the ball up and down the field throughout the game.
