On this date in 1986, Martina Navratilova set the record for the most in total winnings for a pro tennis player – male or female – at $10 million by winning the United States Women's Indoor Tennis championshipsLater in the year she would go on to win the 100th playing of Wimbledon. Wish we could find video of that match to share, but alas. No one has digitized that particular Betamax tape. In its place, here is Ms. Navratilova talking about winning Wimbledon in 1978 against Christ Evert.
