Universal Takeover Sports Network:
Yet another blow to the Detriot Pistons back court. The team announced that point guard Brandon Jennings will be out at least three weeks because of an impacted wisdom tooth and hairline fracture of the jawbone at the base of the tooth.
The first blow the Pistons backcourt recived was when Rodney Stuckey suffered a broken right thumb when he caught his hand in the door jamb of his vehicle.
If Jennings misses around 3 weeks, he could possibly return to the lineup Nov. 8, when the Oklahoma City Thunder visits the Palace of Auburn Hills.
This gives Chauncey Billups, Will Bynum and even rookie Peyton Siva a chance of taking the point guard role. The obvious decision would be start to start Billups as he played for the Pistons earlier in his career. He was part of the 2004 Pistons that beat the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals.
“This is the NBA, and in the NBA, people get hurt,” Pistons coach Maurice Cheeks said after today’s practice. “If you’re not ready when your time comes around, shame on you.
“That’s the reason you have 15 guys on your team, so (if) someone gets hurt, someone can step in there and play and maybe take advantage of it. Hopefully, they will take advantage of it … and we can keep on going.”
Treatment will include immobilization for three weeks. He will be re-evaluated at that time.

Greg Monroe is unlikely to agree to a contract extension with the Detroit Pistons this month, setting up restricted free agency in the summer.
NBA teams can only have one five-year designated player, which the Pistons will likely keep for Andre Drummond before the 15-16 season.
The Pistons will have the ability to match any offer Monroe receives in free agency.
There’s a reason why you haven’t heard a lot about Greg Monroe’s contract situation — there’s nothing to report.
It’s highly likely that the fourth-year power forward won’t receive a contract extension from the Pistons before the Halloween deadline meaning Monroe will be a restricted free agent next off-season.
But don’t misunderstand the move. At this point the...
