ARLINGTON – Jason Garrett and Rob Ryan don’t like to play along with reporters eager to paint them as the NFL’s odd couple.
“To be honest with you,” Garrett said last week, “I think we’re actually really similar. We come from similar (coaching-heavy) families and we both certainly have a passion for football.
“Different people have different personalities, different people have different exteriors. But one of the things that was so attractive about Rob when he showed up for an interview was how much we hit it off and how natural it was right from the start.
“We don’t want everybody to be the same. This is not a cookie-cutter operation by any means.”
Said Ryan, “We both work our ass off, we’re both smart and we both want to win…The only difference is maybe in appearance. He has a long way to go there.”
