Braves in the Playoffs?
The Braves can get themselves into the playoffs this season. I refuse to get too excited about it because it is September and they do have some more work to do to get there but I mean hey, it's manageable. Currently, they are 3 games out of the wild card spot and are in the middle of playing a series with the Marlins. They have split the season series with them thus far (6-6) but I think with Tim Hudson coming back, the Braves have even more stability in the pitching rotation. As a Braves fan, I have to think, "what if they make it in this season?" And again, if they do, the pitching they possess gives them a very good chance at winning either a 5 or 7 game series. With a pitching depth chart of Vasquez, Jurjjens, Lowe, Hanson, Kawakami and now Tim Hudson, the Braves are VERY deep in the most important playoff position. We have all seen what the offense can and even cannot do at times. They put runs up in bunches, but also lead MLB in shut outs. And I don't mean throwing them, I mean being shut out. Some could say this is inconsistent, and you can't help but agree. But there are bats in the lineup that can all get going at the same time and the lineup becomes potent on the spot. Prado, Jones, Anderson, McCann, LaRoche all have had hot bats at some point this season. If they could put it together right now, the Braves can make a serious run at the Wild Card spot, and barring a Mets-like meltdown, even the NL East.
IT CAN BE DONE, GO BRAVES!!
