MLB Injury News:
The Atlanta Braves will be without outfielders Jason Heyward, B.J. Upton and Justin Upton until after the All-Star break. The good news is that may be back for the series in Chicago on Friday after the break.
As reported by Eric Single of MLB.com,
"Heyward appears to be the farthest along of the three after leaving
Thursday's game in the second inning with a strained right hamstring he
sustained running the bases."
"B.J. Upton was encouraged by the overnight progress of his strained
right adductor muscle, which he suffered diving for a sharply hit line
drive in the first inning of Friday's 4-2 loss. However, it was still
too early to nail down a timetable for the centerfielder's return."
" The biggest remaining unknown was the status of Justin Upton, who met
with the media Friday night after leaving in the seventh inning with a
left calf strain but was not available before the game on Saturday.
Upton pulled up halfway down the line running out a ground ball and was
replaced in the field the next half inning."
Heyward, in his fourth Major League season, is batting .227 with 7 home runs and 21 rbi's in 67 games. He is a career .256 hitter with 66 home runs and 217 runs batted in.
B.J. Upton is in his first season with the Braves. Last season with the Rays, he batted .246 with 28 home runs and 31 stolen bases in 146 games. For his career, Upton is batting .249 with 126 home runs and 467 runs batted in.
Justin Upton is a career .275 with 124 home runs and 408 runs batted in. This season, he is batting .255 with 16 home runs in 88 games.

It wasn't too long ago that people were talking about the surplus of outfielders the Atlanta Braves had on their roster. Three (supposedly) solid starters in Justin Upton, B.J. Upton, and Jason Heyward, and a strong bench that included hero-for-hire Evan Gattis and the newly transformed Jordan Schafer.
So how did Friday night's outfield end up looking like Joey
