Okay, so this may not be news but it's amazing and awesome and why we love Evgeni Malkin off of the ice.
Posted within the last hour, Malkin takes a turn posing in his Halloween costume with his very own Dick Grayson (aka Robin). If anyone is willing to translate we'd be more than happy to give credit where it's due.

Welcome to another edition of "Mad Monday" with me "Mad" Chad Nolan. As you know by now this is a forum I use to try to put together my rants in a somewhat formal write-up. Once again there's really not much to be mad about in the world of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Pens are in first place in their division and the eastern conference. So is there anything...
Almost since the moment that the Penguins were eliminated in the Playoffs by the Bruins, speculation and assumptions have run rampant that GM Ray Shero would trade Matt Niskanen. It made sense, Rob Scuderi returned to Pittsburgh, Paul Martin had a monster year, Kris Letang got a huge contract, and the Penguins have many more […]
It was no secret that the Pittsburgh Penguins weren’t happy
with the way the team exited the playoffs against Boston. The collapse was a colossal embarrassment. My
Gram used to say, “To whom much is given, much is expected.” The Pens entered
the Boston series last season with an envious wealth of talent but failed to
live up to their potential. The inevitable wave of...
If you were to ask Penguin fans to tell you the first player who comes to mind when they hear the word “dependable”, many I am sure would think of offensive minded players like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and so forth. But often the word “dependable” in the context of hockey can often be skewed because offensive stats are the first thing to pop into the minds of many. One...
Pittsburgh Penguins forward James Neal will remain out for at least two more weeks, as reported by Joe Yerdon of NBC Sports.
The 26-year-old winger was placed on injured reserve on October 15 with an upper-body injury. Neal has only played in one game this season, playing in the team’s season-opener against the New Jersey Devils on October 3. He started the day as a game-time decision...

First Goal Against (Landeskog)
Paul Martin can’t keep the puck in at the offensive zone blue line, takes it back to center ice, and then gives it away at the offensive blue line to the Avs. As this happens...

They’re 7-1 and sitting comfortably atop the Metropolitan Division, but how excited should fans be for this Penguins team?
There are reasons to believe this team is already on the cusp of being the best in hockey; there are also some question marks regarding the sustainability of their success.
Let’s start by pointing out the painfully...
Via the Pens:
The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forwards Chris Conner and Harry Zolnierczyk to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
In today's installment of Chris' Corner I cover last night's loss to the Avs and explain why no one needs to over react. I also discuss the questions surrounding whether or not Olli Maatta stays in Pittsburgh or heads back to London. I also preview this weekends Pens games vs the Islanders and Leafs and close by talking about my one big concern for the Penguins right now!
1. Crosby is a beast. The NHL season is only three weeks old, and already Sidney Crosby is running away with the scoring lead, again. The Kid has 17 points in 8 games, as I’m sure you already know. Pretty…Read more →The post Today’s 5: Crosby’s scoring pace, Sabres losing pace, Tim Thomas’ positive influence, and more. appeared first on The Hockey Daily.
Marc-Andre Fleury has started the season on a tear. His only loss came on Monday night, when his high-powered offense was circumcised. With everyone hoping Fleury's post-season meltdowns are behind him, it's encouraging that he's off to the hottest start of his career.
While examining MAF's career, we decided to check out how the Pens' starting goalies have...
The Pittsburgh Penguins 2012 first round draft pick, Olli Maatta, will remain with the team, general manager Ray Shero announced Thursday. “Based on his play, we believe this is the best decision for Olli and the Penguins,” Shero said. “We want to thank Mark and Dale Hunter and the London Knights for their patience and understanding.” The 19-year-old

First thing's first; if you had the first overall pick and skipped on Sidney Crosby, you're probably kicking yourself. Crosby has looked as good as ever and leads the league in goals and assists. Patrick Marleau is someone who has been impressive to start this year with at least a point in every game and he has scored a goal in every game but one this year. Marc-Andre...

There's a part of us/me that has kind of loved the Colorado Avalanche for a while. When the 1996 Florida Panthers eliminated the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference Final, they didn't just bring the scourge...
