Atlanta-falcons-cornerback
#Falcons CB Brent Grimes is coming back for another year. — D. Orlando Ledbetter (@AJCFalcons) March 13, 2013 The Atlanta Falcons' Grimes was turning into one of the top corners in the league, and they he got hurt last year (achilles injury). It was believed that he could come at a serious discount and even be willing to accept a one year deal. Well, he did sign a one year deal, but with the Falcons again. It would've been a steal if the Patriots had been able to pick him up but they either weren't interested or Grimes just wanted to return to Atlanta. He was number two on our top 5 free-agent cornerbacks.

The Atlanta Falcons re-signed free agent left tackle Sam Baker late on Tuesday to a six-year contract, plugging another potential hole on their roster. Terms of the deal were not immediately known. Darrelle Revis wearing a Falcons hat in Paris?

@JohnGeiger_ Darelle Revis’ buisness manager John Geiger took a photo of him in Paris and posted it on Twitter today.  If you look at the picture closely, it looks like Revis is wearing an Atlanta Falcons hat. This likely doesn’t mean anything, but is certainly interesting.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script...

Smith, Dimitroff happy to have Gozalez back

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. Throughout the 2012 NFL season, Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez maintained that he was 95 percent certain he would retire. If the Falcons had had to replace him, they could have gotten a good tight end in the draft or free agency, but none quite like Gonzalez, the league's all-time leader in receptions by a tight end, and certainly not one who has the near...

Tony Gonzalez not retiring, staying with Falcons

Tony Gonzalez said he was done. Done playing football and done with the NFL. He promised his son he would move to California and started to make commitments. FoxSports.com’s Jay Glazer has reported Tony Gonzalez will be returning for at least one more year to the Atlanta Falcons and will be putting off his retirement. While worried about his commitments, Gonzalez told Glazer the...

He’s back: Tony Gonzales will return to Falcons in 2013, contract being worked on

Perhaps the greatest tight end in NFL history, Tony Gonzales said 2012 would be his last year, but like an old prize fighter, he couldn’t stay away for one last run. Gonzales has earned the right to call his own shots, and he’s not limping back, he’s still a potent offensive weapon. That’s good news for the Atlanta Falcons who have been trying to convince the 37 year old...

Here is the statement Gonzales released about his return courtesy of Pro Football Talk. “After discussing it with my family and really, truly struggling with this decision, I informed the Falcons that I would like to return for one more shot,” Gonzalez told Glazer. “Considering how this season ended, I wanted to give it another run with Matt [Ryan], Smitty [head coach Mike...

Falcons rumors: Atlanta frontrunner for Steven Jackson

Running back Steven Jackson decided to opt out of his remaining contract with the St. Louis Rams, a move that made him a free agent. Now, since the veteran hit the market, the Atlanta Falcons are considered the frontrunner to land him this offseason, according to Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Rather than re-signing with his former club, Jackson appears set to part...

Jason La Canfora reported Tuesday evening that the Atlanta Falcons could be a potential suitor for defensive tackle Richard Seymour. Tony Gonzalez expected to return to the Atlanta Falcons for 2013 season

In a move that comes as no surprise to me, Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez will return to his team for the 2013 season according to a report by NFL insider Jay Glazer. This announcement is great news for both Gonzalez and the Falcons franchise. The soon to be Hall of Fame tight end had stated that he might retire after the 2012 season after winning his first ever playoff game, but...
