The bumpy career of for first round draft pick Eric Arnett may have hit another setback.Arnett will have team physician Dr. William Raasch evaluate a possible torn ACL in his right knee on Wednesday in Phoenix, the club announced Tuesday. If the ACL is torn and surgery is required, Raasch will perform the surgery on Thursday, causing Arnett to miss the majority, if not all of the 2013 season. Arnett, 25, told the team he suffered the injury doing shuttle runs while preparing for spring training. Taken 26th overall in the 2009 draft out of Indiana University, Arnett has not lived up to expectations. The right-hander struggled as a starter, posting a 1-13 record with a 6.29 ERA in 25 games over the course of two seasons for Single-A Wisconsin. The Brewers moved Arnett to the bullpen prior to last season and the move appeared to have jumpstarted his career. The 25-year-old made 33 relief appearances for Single-A Advanced Brevard County and had a 3.56 ERA in 60 23 innings. Arnett was expected to make the jump and start the season with Double-A Huntsville, but a torn ACL would all but end his season and serve as another significant setback in his quest to prove worthy of being a first round pick. After being drafted in 2009, Arnett went 0-4 with a 4.41 ERA in 14 appearances in rookie ball. Moved to Wisconsin for the 2010 season, the 6-foot-5 right-hander went 1-9 with a 6.70 ERA. A shoulder injury limited Arnett to just 14 games between rookie ball and Single-A in 2011. Follow Andrew Gruman on Twitter.

What Kind Of Tricks Will Ryan Braun And His Lawyers Use Against MLB This Time Around He Made The P.E.D. List

Ryan Braun and his lawyers beat MLB at their own game the last time around. Brauns lawyers were able to beat the league at their own game. They didn’t like the way his urine sample was handled. Now with Braun’s name showing up on the list of names obtained by the Miami New Times, I can already hear Bruan’s lawyer screaming out, “How Do We Know Who Handled the List”. Yes...

Reliever Badenhop glad to play for Milwaukee

Sitting in the visitor's bullpen at Miller Park in late September of 2011, Badenhop had a great view as the Brewers clinched the National League Central Division title against his Florida Marlins. When he got word he was traded to Milwaukee in December, Badenhop's mind raced back to...

Rogers hopes injuries finally behind him

MILWAUKEE -- Mark Rogers has had plenty of seasons end or fail to begin at all because of injuries. It's hard to blame the right-hander for being a bit agitated when the Brewers decided to shut him down following his Aug. 31 start last season. With his team in the playoff race, Rogers wanted to keep contributing to the cause. It's also hard to disagree with the decision the...

Estrada still out to prove something

MILWAUKEE -- Just two years ago, Marco Estrada was across the parking lot. At Maryvale Baseball Park, minor league camp is across the way from the big league camp and clubhouse, and If it weren't for Zack Greinke getting hurt playing pick-up basketball, Estrada probably would have never made the walk back to the side of the complex where he now belongs. As he heads back to Phoenix...

Familiar name emerges in drug probe

One year later, we have the sequel: Major League Baseball vs. Ryan Braun, Part II. Days before the start of spring training, MLB drug sleuths have a fresh opportunity to pursue allegations of performance-enhancing drug use against Braun. That is the biggest takeaway from Tuesday night's Yahoo! Sports report, which said Braun's name appeared in records of the Biogenesis clinic...

Braun denies link to alleged PED clinic

NEW YORK (AP) -- Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun said he used the person who ran the Florida clinic under investigation by Major League Baseball only as a consultant on his drug suspension appeal last year. "I have nothing to hide," Braun said in a statement released by his representatives to The Associated Press on Tuesday night. Earlier in the day, Yahoo Sports...
