Losses once piled up for Kyle Lohse earlier in the season. Now he's working on another long undefeated streak. The Milwaukee Brewers hope Lohse can extend that run while winning his third straight start Saturday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. Lohse (5-6, 3.47 ERA) is 4-0 with a 2.37 ERA in his last eight starts and hasn't lost since an 8-6 defeat at Minnesota on May 30. He's plenty familiar with long unbeaten stints, going 15 starts without a loss for St. Louis at one point last year and 10 starts a year earlier. Milwaukee (37-55) supplied the right-hander with an average of 2.6 runs of support as he went 1-6 in his first 10 starts. But the Brewers are backing him with 5.3 runs per game over his unbeaten run. He also received some spectacular defensive help to preserve his latest victory as Carlos Gomez robbed what would have been the go-ahead home run for the final out in a 4-3 win over Cincinnati on Monday. Lohse gave up nine hits - the most...

D-backs look to stay hot against Lohse, Brewers

Earlier in the year, losses were piling up for Kyle Lohse. Now, he's working on another long unbeaten streak. The Brewers hope Lohse can extend that run while winning his third straight start Saturday night against the Diamondbacks at Chase Field. Lohse (5-6, 3.47 ERA) is 4-0 with a 2.37 ERA in his last eight starts and hasn't lost since an 8-6 defeat at Minnesota on May...

Late D-backs rally leaves Brewers deflated

Another day and yet another tough loss for the Milwaukee Brewers, as Saturday's 5-4 loss was just as frustrating as the previous two in Phoenix. With Kyle Lohse cruising, a three-run sixth inning had the Brewers feeling good about themselves, but the wheels fell off in the seventh inning. After getting Paul Goldschmidt to fly out to start the seventh, Lohse surrendered his...

Brewers' first-half struggles allow Wily Peralta's development

There haven't been too many positives for the Milwaukee Brewers this season, as the Brewers were going to go into the All-Star break with one of their worst first-half records in a decade. The development of Wily Peralta is becoming one of the more positive things to come in the last month, as the young right-hander continued his roll with seven strong innings Sunday in Milwaukee...

Brewers Friday: Milwaukee's runners left stranded in loss

Any kind of loss carries a certain level of frustration, but losses like the one the Milwaukee Brewers suffered Friday night in Phoenix are the toughest to swallow. The Brewers left 11 runners on base, went 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position and gave up two unearned runs in a 2-1 loss to Arizona. "We certainly had opportunities," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said...

Khris Davis called up to fill Ryan Braun's roster spot

The Milwaukee Brewers recalled outfielder Khris Davis from Triple-A Nashville following Thursdays 5-3 loss to Arizona, filling the void on the roster created by Ryan Brauns placement on the bereavement list. Davis, 25, rejoins the Brewers for his second stint with the big league team. After making the club out of spring training, Davis was sent to Nashville on May 2. A power surge...

MLB Players Want Ryan Braun ‘Taken Down So Badly,’ Banned From Baseball After PED Allegations

Despite being suspected of using performance-enhancing drugs, Ryan Braun has successfully avoided suspension from MLB. That fact has apparently struck a nerve with several of his peers. Braun, along with other players, is now facing the possibility of a 100-game suspension for his link to the Biogenesis clinic and, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney, there are players around the...

Kennedy, D-backs look to finish sweep of Brewers

Mired deep in the NL Central cellar, the Brewers haven't had too much to get excited about in the first half of this season. Wily Peralta's recent performances have been a pleasant exception. In his team's final game before the All-Star break, the right-hander will seek to extend a considerable scoreless streak and help the Brewers avoid their first four-game sweep by...

Brewers 5, Diamondbacks 1

Wily Peralta pitched seven effective innings, Logan Schafer homered and drove in two runs and the Milwaukee Brewers ended a four-game losing streak by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1 on Sunday. Arizona won the first three games of the series, mostly by coming from behind. The Brewers prevented the sweep by roughing up Ian Kennedy (3-6) early with a string of two-strike hits...

Diamondbacks A.J. Pollack saves the game with diving catch to end inning

There is probably no more exciting defensive play in baseball than a diving, feet off the ground, parallel to the ground catch.  Throw in bases-loaded, 2 outs, in a 2-1 game in the 8th inning and just watch it all unfold as A.J. Pollack robs Milwaukee Brewers Martin Maldonado of a hit and multiple RBI and preserve the eventual win for the D-backs (courtesy of It’s not...

Brewers looking to get first win against D-backs

After finally recording his 10th win, Patrick Corbin can focus solely on trying to help the Arizona Diamondbacks remain atop the NL West. The All-Star left-hander looks to lead the Diamondbacks to a fifth consecutive victory over the visiting Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night. Corbin (10-1, 2.40 ERA) went 9-0 with a 2.06 ERA in his first 11 starts and 0-1 with a 3.27 ERA over the...

Corbin dominant, bullpen comes through in D-Backs win

With his effort on Friday night, Patrick Corbin made his case to Bruce Bochy for him to start for the National League in the All-Star Game on Tuesday night.

D-backs rally past Brewers to end skid

PHOENIX (AP) -- Martin Prado lined a two-run single in the eighth inning, Wade Miley pitched eight effective innings and the Diamondbacks ended a three-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over the Brewers on Thursday night. Miley (6-7) gave up a pair of homers in the first three innings before settling down. Adam Eaton helped Arizona close to 3-2 with a two-run triple in the fifth...

Long ball leads Diamondbacks to win over Brewers

What a streaky team these Diamondbacks are. With Saturday night’s 5-4 win over the Brewers, the Snakes have now won three straight following their sweep at the hand of the Dodgers, which followed a five game win streak. The win was their 26th comeback victory of the year, second in the National League only to the Braves.
