The Arizona Diamondbacks are rumored to be interested in trading for Milwaukee's Yovani Gallardo.
In the meantime, the right-hander looks to remain undefeated against the Diamondbacks and help the visiting Brewers hand the NL West leaders a fourth straight defeat Thursday night.
For the first time in his seven-year career, Gallardo (7-8, 4.85 ERA) is the subject of some serious trade talk while Milwaukee (37-53) sports one of the majors' worst records.
Clinging to a 1 12-game division lead and looking to perhaps bolster a rotation that's minus injured starters Trevor Cahill and Brandon McCarthy, Arizona (47-44) appears to be one of those teams vying for Gallardo's services.
"It's a little bit different. I wouldn't say that it's tough," Gallardo told the Brewers' official website of dealing with the rumors. "The only thing I can do is go out there and pitch.
"There's certain things that you really can't control. It'...

The Milwaukee Brewers have placed left fielder Ryan Braun on the bereavement list effective Thursday due to a family medical issue.

MILWAUKEE -- Not much went right in Johnny Hellweg's first experience of the major leagues, but both the young right-hander and the Milwaukee Brewers are confident this is not the pitcher they'll see in the future.

Despite being suspected of using performance-enhancing drugs, Ryan Braun has successfully avoided suspension from MLB. That fact has apparently struck a nerve with several of his peers.
Braun, along with other players, is now facing the possibility of a 100-game suspension for his link to the Biogenesis clinic and, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney, there are players around the...
Perhaps it’s just due diligence. Perhaps it’s more. It’s that time of the year, folks.
The Red Sox could use help in their bullpen, and The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo reports that Boston is “looking everywhere for relief.” It appears that “everywhere” includes Milwaukee, where a few relievers might be available.
According to CBSSports.com’s Danny Knobler, the Red...
The Diamondbacks are reeling after seeing their comfortable 4.5-game NL West lead shrink to 1.5 games after the Dodgers swept them in three games, including a 14-inning heart breaker Wednesday.
L.A., with rookie phenom Yasiel Puig and a resurgentg starting rotation, has been suggested as the new NL West favorite, so it's up to the D-backs to bounce back and protect their ground...

Wily Peralta didn't know when he took the mound Tuesday night that the Brewers had taken the field a record 407 straight times between complete games.
Milwaukee's wildly inconsistent right-hander ended that slump, tossing a three-hitter to give Milwaukee a 2-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds for his first career shutout.
Peralta's solid outing was the Brewers'...
With the Brewers struggling, teams are looking at them as potential sellers. Teams are eyeing their starting pitchers, relief pitchers and now one of their key signings a couple of years ago.

Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun responded to ESPN's latest report that he refused to answer Major League Baseball's questions in connection with Tony Bosch and Biogenesis and, as a result, will be suspended after the All-Star break with a copy and paste of his response from earlier in the year.
The truth still hasn't...

MILWAUKEE -- Coming off an outing where he left in the sixth inning with a strained left hamstring and having had his start pushed back two days, few could have foreseen starter Wily Peralta going seven innings strong.
Going the distance and pitching a shutout? That wasn't even in the same zip code.
The Brewers had gone an...
