Titans receiver Kenny Britt is busy strengthening his surgically repaired knees so he can rejoin his teammates.
He says he's not worried about not hearing from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell or what punishment he might receive for his latest brush with police.
''That's just another bump in the road, another pothole in the road that we've got to go over and smoothing that out,'' Britt said Tuesday. ''That's something I'm not putting in my head right now, just hoping to recover from these knee injuries.''
Britt met with NFL officials Aug. 6 to discuss his arrest July 20 for driving under the influence when he tried to pass through a security gate at the Fort Campbell Army post on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line.
It was his eighth incident with police since the Titans drafted him in the first round in 2009, and he also visited Goodell a year ago with a stern reminder to behave.
The receiver tore his right ACL in September 2011 and had arthroscopic surgeries on that knee in May and on his left knee in June.
But the receiver has been busy working every day on a side field on the physically unable to perform list. The Titans don't expect to be able to activate him before the final game of the preseason on Aug. 30 against New Orleans.
Britt posed for photos and signed autographs for members of the 101st Airborne Division who visited practice Tuesday. He said his only problem with the soldiers is that they were so busy thanking him that he didn't get a chance to tell them how much he appreciates them.
''Great people,'' Britt said. ''I had an uncle served 20 years, I got a cousin served 26 years and a sister going on her eighth year. I respect everything they do for us.''
Kansas City linebacker Tamba Hali was suspended for the opener on Monday for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
The receiver said he doesn't watch or read any news so he isn't tracking what the league office is doing, trying to divine what punishment might come his way.
''They said they'd get back to me when he can,'' Britt said. ''I'm not waiting for it. That's not where my mind is right now. My mind is just get back on the field.''
The Titans sure need Britt back and healthy as soon as possible to help ease the first season as starter for quarterback Jake Locker. Britt had 14 catches for 271 yards with three touchdowns in his first two games last season before tearing his right ACL after only three catches for 18 yards in the third game.
Britt had been limited by a hamstring injury during training camp last year and had little time to work with then-starter Matt Hasselbeck. The receiver said he's been watching closely what the offense is doing and expects to be on the same page with Locker his first week back.
His bigger challenge for now going into his fourth season?
''Hopefully my legs hold up,'' Britt said.
NOTES: S Jordan Babineaux returned to practice and will be a game-time decision Thursday night against Arizona with a sore shoulder. ... Coach Mike Munchak said DE Dave Ball (concussion symptoms) is in a holding pattern and not close.
