The Denver Broncos have officially ruled Champ Bailey out against the Baltimore Ravens. Bailey has been dealing with a sprained foot, this is the type of injury that can be nagging and hard to recover from. This move seems to be the logical choice for the Broncos, they would much rather have Bailey miss the beginning of the season than the end.
Champ Bailey injured his foot August 17th in a preseason game against the Seahawks and hasn't practiced since. The Broncos are hopeful that Bailey will be able to go for week two. Bailey will not be the only defensive star missing week one for the Broncos. Outside linebacker Von Miller will start serving his six game suspension on Thursday night. Miller and Bailey are possibly the Broncos two mot valuable players on defense.
However, the Broncos did receiver some good news for Thursday night. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is expected to play. Cromartie sprained his ankle earlier in training camp and was carted off the practice field, but Cromartie seems ready to go for the season opener tomorrow night.
