PLAYERS: Von Miller
TEAMS: Denver Broncos
Von Miller thinks offseason is for the birds. Yardbirds, that is. Miller, the Broncos linebacker, told USA Today he bought 38 chickens for his eight-acre property near Dallas with the intention of becoming a chicken magnate. "Hopefully I'll have some chicken tenders for you guys," Miller told reporters. Miller isn't just winging it. He majored in poultry science at Texas A&M and has long had an interest in the poultry industry. By starting his chicken operation now, he hopes to have a leg up on the competition by the time he retires from the NFL. "I really wanted to get to the fundamentals, getting back to raising chicks," Miller said. "I raised chicks in college in class and stuff. Now it's a project for me to do it on my own and see where I go with it. I'm pretty excited about it." Lest anyone think he's getting too cooped up dealing with chickens, remember that Miller has recorded 30 sacks in two seasons with the Broncos. Quarterbacks will still be walking on eggshells around him this fall. Follow Keith Whitmire on Twitter: @Keith_Whitmire

A Super Bowl in Denver? Broncos planning to bid

The NFL may need a new location to fill the bid for Super Bowl L, now that the Dolphins chances were ruined by the state legislature in Florida. The league wanted upgrades or a new stadium in Miami, and because the Dolphins can’t currently public funding, it looks like the Denver Broncos are going to step in and take a shot at land the Big Game. The NFL is not afraid of bad weather...

Tight end Jacob Tamme is excited by Wes Welker and the Broncos offense: 'Wes is awesome'

Denver Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme is excited about the arrival of receiver Wes Welker and the Broncos offense going into the second year under Peyton Manning. Any tight end would be as Welker takes the heat off the position playing from the slot. Welker's presence prevents any double teams in the middle of the field on Tamme, giving him more room to work. Couple that with...

20 NFL rookies who can have a big fantasy impact

I thought since I am a fantasy football junkie, I would let you all in on my dirty little secrets when it comes to fantasy football.  I have come up with 20 players that I believe could become the steal of the fantasy draft.  I remember last year drafting Alfred Morris in the 18th round.  I was laughed at but looked like a genius when I was in the championship.  So here are a...

Tom Brady celebrates big win at the Derby?

So, apparently Tom Brady and co. have some sort of connection to the owners of Orb, who won the Kentucky Derby yesterday. You can see Brady and his crew of former Patriots: Dan Koppen, Tedy Bruschi and Wes Welker go nuts over the win with the owners. Apparently Brady didn't want to go down to the winner's circle though, implying he probably didn't have much invested...

T.J. Moe Shrugs Off Comparisons to Wes Welker, Says He’s Just Trying to Make Patriots Roster

FOXBORO, Mass. — The minute T.J. Moe stepped on the field at Gillette Stadium to speak with the media, he was met with a question about Wes Welker. The comparisons between the two players are obvious. Both went undrafted, both use short-area quickness and agility more than straight-line speed to get separation, both are under 6-foot (despite Moe’s generous listing) and both excel...
