Well, there is the first shot across the bow from the Chicago media. Steve Rosenbloom of the Chicago Tribune says that Tuukka Rask is not that good. Ok, let me get this straight. Tuukka is 12-4 and just led the Bruins to the Stanley Cup Final. He has a 1.75 GAA which is second only to Blackhawks’ goalie Corey Crawford (who played one more game). Rask has the BEST save percentage in the playoffs at .943. He made 54 saves in a Double OT win over the Penguins arguably the best offensive team in the NHL. Oh yeah, he only let up TWO goals in the whole series So Mr. Rosenbloom what is good in your world? Because if Tuukka Rask beats your ‘Hawks being okay, Bruins fans will take that all day.   CHECK THIS OUT: Rask “Not Being Good” Video Montage

City cuts Blackhawks fan's 'Playoff Lawn'

Playoff beards are a pretty common way for athletes to keep their mojo going during the postseason. Some fans even get in on the action to stand in solidarity with their team. But one Chicago Blackhawks fan took his playoff growth to unique heights. Frank Miller, a resident of Park Ridge, Ill., had the misfortune of dealing with a flooded basement in his house. Through the process...

SCF Preview: Bruins vs Blackhawks

After a 113 day lockout, a shortened 48 game season and fourteen series of playoff hockey, we have arrived at the Stanley Cup Finals in a matchup between the big, bad Boston Bruins and the run-and-gun Chicago Blackhawks. For the first time since 1979, two Original Six teams will face-off in the Finals—go ahead and take a drink. Hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Orr played in both cities...

Andrew Shaw’s ‘Pest Factor Is as High if Not Higher’ Than Brad Marchand’s, Says Pierre McGuire

It’s Stanley Cup Final week which means everyone will be comparing everything leading up to the biggest, best and final hockey series of the season. From the crease out, everyone on the Bruins will be matched up with everyone on the Blackhawks and the Andrew Shaw-Brad Marchand contrasts seem to be dominating early on. Shaw, like Marchand, is a little ball of hate in his own right...

Bruins-Blackhawks Stanley Cup Final Should Be Physical, Defensive-Minded Series

The two best teams in the NHL will meet in the Stanley Cup Final, and you could make the argument that the Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks were the two best teams in the league the entire season. While the Bruins faltered toward the end of the regular season, we could instead look at how they started the season — when they were playing a somewhat regular schedule — and realize...

Blackhawks fan's 'playoff lawn' mowed by city after being deemed health risk

The superstition of not shaving during the playoffs has become a popular one in today's society. But one Chicago Blackhawks fan took an alternative way to show support for his team during the postseason by intentionally neglecting to mow his overgrown lawn.Frank Miller of Park Ridge, Ill. said the idea came to him when he was busy dealing with a flooded basement and couldn'...

Bollig may replace Stalberg

Viktor Stalberg knows why he might not get to play when the Chicago Blackhawks host the Boston Bruins in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on Wednesday night. That doesn't make the development any easier for him. Stalberg skated outside the top four lines when Chicago practiced at the United Center on Tuesday, and coach Joel Quenneville also broke up the combination of Jonathan...

Fans send surging Bruins off to Stanley Cup finals

The Bruins got a rousing sendoff from Boston fans before boarding a plane for Chicago to meet the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup finals. About 1,000 fans filled the concourse at the TD Garden in their black and gold shirts, waving signs and chanting ''We want the Cup!'' The Bruins walked by after practice in their suits and ties, giving fans high-fives and posing...

Blackhawks Defenseman Duncan Keith Grew Up a Bruins Fan, Idolized Ray Bourque

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith is from Winnipeg, so you might think that he would have grown up in the early to mid-90s as a fan of the Jets — these Jets, of course. However, a young Keith grew up rooting for a team that played its hockey almost 2,000 miles away. Now, as a 29-year-old blue liner in the NHL, Keith will have to go through the team he grew up rooting for...

Chicago Blackhawks fan has ‘playoff lawn’ cut down by city

Chicago Blackhawks fan Frank Miller has come up with an idea for those fans who cannot show up to work rocking a playoff beard. Rather than going months without shaving, Miller decided he would let his front lawn grow until the Blackhawks hoist the Stanley Cup. Shaving can be an epic pain in the you-know-what, [...]

Blackhawks Respect, Aware of Bruins’ Ability Despite Any Potential Unfamiliarity With B’s

The Bruins and Blackhawks haven’t played each other since Oct. 15, 2011, but that doesn’t mean the Hawks aren’t aware of what the Bruins are capable of doing. The last time these two teams met was just five months to the date that the Bruins won the 2011 Stanley Cup, and when they finally meet again it will be for the 2013 Stanley Cup. So it goes without saying that the Blackhawks...

Bruins Ready to “Be Part of Something Special” With First Original 6 Stanley Cup Final Matchup in 3 Decades (Video)

The last time two Original Six teams played each other in the Stanley Cup Final a gallon of gas was 86 cents, a Sony Walkman cost $200 and Rocky II was a hit movie in theaters. The year was 1979, and the Canadiens and Rangers played a series for the history books. The Bruins and the Blackhawks will be adding their own chapter to that history book starting Wednesday night. For the...

Nathan Horton has been one of the stars of these NHL playoffs as will be an integral component of the Stanley Cup finals if the Bruins are going to beat the Chicago Blackhawks. John Jaeckel: Further Breakdown on Boston-Chicago

Follow me @jaeckel I did a little bit more poking around in the statistics of these playoffs and found something kind of telling about the Boston-Chicago matchup. And it’s something that points to an edge for Chicago. The Bruins have gotten nearly 40% of their offensive production from one line—19 out of 50 total goals from David Krejci, Nathan Horton and Milan...
