PLAYERS: Nathan Horton
TEAMS: Boston Bruins
Boston Bruins right wing Nathan Horton, out since January with a concussion, has been cleared for contact and should be healthy by the start of training camp, the team announced Tuesday. "Horton has been cleared for contact and our medical staff says he'll be ready to go when we start playing," Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli told reporters. Horton had 17 goals and 15 assists in 46 games last season, but he didn't play after taking a hit from the Flyers' Tom Sestito on Jan. 22. It resulted in Horton's second concussion in six months. Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid, who played just once after suffering a concussion March 29, also has been cleared for contact.

Dougie Hamilton's Expected NHL Debut This Season Could Be Jeopardized By Even a Brief Lockout

BOSTON -- No one stands to benefit if the owners opt to lock out the players once again to force yet another work stoppage if a new collective bargaining agreement for the NHL can't be reached this summer. But the Bruins could be in line to lose more than most, as even a brief lockout could keep talented defense prospect Dougie Hamilton out of the NHL for an extra year. Hamilton...

Vote: Which Upcoming Bruins Restricted Free Agent Will Be Next to Sign Long-Term?

The Boston Bruins have had a quiet offseason, which was to be expected with the small amount of cap space general manager Peter Chiarelli had to work with. But next offseason figures to more eventful in Boston, with four key players set to become restricted free agents in addition to the handful of unrestricted free agents Chiarelli will have to address. Tyler Seguin, Milan Lucic...

Bruins Unfazed by Eastern Rivals' Moves, Confident Keeping Core of Championship Team Intact Will Pay Off

BOSTON -- The Bruins have enjoyed a relatively quiet offseason. Just one year removed from winning the Stanley Cup and the wild celebrations that followed, Boston has focused on retaining the core of that championship team rather than shaking up the roster with any major trades or free-agent signings. But the Bruins recognize not all teams have adopted that approach, and they have...

Bruins extend head-coach Claude Julien

Boston Bruins’ head coach Claude Julien will be able to afford more snappy hats now with a fresh new contract A couple of years ago, everyone was calling for Boston Bruins’ head-coach Claude Julien’s head. There was even a vocal #FireClaude on Twitter mid-way through the 2010-11 season. Now the Boston Bruins are giving him a contract extension. It’s amazing what winning the...

Bruins Sign Julien To Extention

Yesterday afternoon (or evening?) the Bruins sent out an e-mail saying that they have reached a multi-year deal with current coach Claude Julien. Claude was going into a lame duck year (that means the last year of his contract) and I think it was smart by Bruins management to lock him up. I'm not saying that Julien is one of the best coaches in the NHL, but there would be a team...

The “Replies To Seguin” Twitter account is one of the best ideas ever

Boston Bruins forward Tyler Seguin is a young, talented, rich and somewhat attractive individual. In fact, if I didn’t already have a committed man-crush to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, I might have man-crushed on Tyler Seguin. Tyler Seguin is also on Twitter, and has over 170,000 followers. Since Tyler Seguin is, again, a young, talented, rich and somewhat attractive individual...
