Derrick Rose started for the Bulls in Thursday night?s opener against the San Antonio Spurs and had no limitations from a medical standpoint. But coach Vinny Del Negro monitored Rose?s minutes closely to make sure he didn?t overextend the point guard as he works his way back from an ankle injury. ??We?ll try to limit his minutes a little bit,?? Del Negro said before the game. ??I want to see how he reacts. He?s only had about three solid days of practice. It feels a little bit better every day, which is a good sign. We don?t want a setback there. It?s a long season; we?ll be smart about it and look at the big picture and try to limit his minutes as best I can.??
